Mostly Good

Well, I bought this product on Friday (about 4 days ago) and I have found that it works good. I got it because my old water bottle was leaking non-stop, and I am getting my new guinea pig, Zeus tomorrow. I am getting almost all new things for his arrival. This bottle looked good because of the flat back and the hook looked pretty secure. I found that this bottle has e little bit of a leak for the first few minutes, but stops. I had to mess with it at first to get water to come out at all, though. I also don't like the fact that the holder is a little difficult to attach and take off. So far, it has held up and looks good. I really like the 'refill reminder duck' because I always used to let the water get to low. I like that at least it is clear (unlike my old bottle, as it was blue.) Overall, this product was very good.

Pros: durable, easy to clean, Spillproof

Brought 2 of theses water bottle 1 for the rabbit and another for my guinea pig my dad helped me with the this water bottle for the rabbit but this water bottle was not easy for the two guinea pigs kept on falling down

I had bought 2 of these for my rabbits & guinea pigs; unfortunately 1 of them got knocked out of it's container & broke when the rabbits were having fun doing their jumps! The other 1 has worked great! It does leak a little when you first refill but stops quickly. I liked the flatness of it not sticking out so far.

Good, but has flaws

I honestly love this water bottle. It's the only one I like to use. However, it has a few flaws that could render is unusable in certain cases.

The nozzle is huge, so it doesn't fit through some cage bars and with the way it is built, it has to hang on the outside of the cage.

It leaks at first when refilling, but quickly stops.

When I got my first water bottle of this type, it did not work right away. No water would come out. After playing with it a bit, it began working and I have since bought three more and have not had a problem.

The way it attaches to the cage can make it difficult for certain cages. Cages with horizontal bars don't always work with this. However, with the right cage, it attaches firmly and works great.

I've acquired a few types of water bottles since getting my rats. Some never stop leaking and some rarely let water out at all! This is the only water bottle I trust for my ratties.

I bought this water bottle a while ago. It leaked constantly. I ended out putting a bowl under it to catch all the drips. And then it eventually found its way into the garbage.

How to stop leak

I bought this bottle for my dog's cage. I had to improvise on attaching it to the cage. The plastic screw did not hold. I also had a very hard time stopping it from leaking. I looked at other bottles and found this advice. "When the bottle is filled and first inverted, you must press the control ball, and let the water trickle out until the vacuum-lock develops inside the bottle, before placing it on the cage". I followed these instructions and NO MORE LEAKS!

Doesn't leak, but a little hard to attatch

I got this bottle for my ferrets' cage after a long battle with leaky bottles, and so far I have found that I have no leaks! I was hopeful, because the way it attaches doesn't leave any room for it to 'wiggle' on the cage, which I think was the biggest issue with my first bottle. My one complaint is that when you need to refill it, it's a little difficult to reattach the full bottle in it's little slider without spilling. Ultimately, I'd rather have one little spill up front and then no leaks for the rest of the week than have constant dripping and be changing out sponges every day.

Pros: Spillproof

all i have to say is that if it isn't leaking.. nothing is coming out. i put it in the cage for the first time, left the room for 5 minutes and almost the whole bottle had leaked out and saturated the bedding by the time i got back. i then refilled it, made sure it wasn't leaking and put it back in the cage. my rats didn't seem to be drinking much of it, so i pressed my finger against the ball to see if anything was even coming out.. sure enough, less than a drop came out on my finger. waste of money, that's for sure!

Okay let me just say that I don't understand all the negativity. I have been raising guinea pigs for 10 years and these are the only bottles I use. I can't stand how the ones with the wire attachment thing slide around on the cage bars, so I like how these ones stay nicely in place. As for figuring out how to attach it to the cage, it's really not rocket science. The bracket goes on the outside of the cage and the little wheel to tighten the screw goes on the inside. Voila. Mine have never leaked, nor have my guinea pigs had any difficulty getting water from them. The only negative thing I can say is that eventually they do break- either the bracket, if you're not careful (of which I have been guilty), or the bottle will split/ crack on one side. But I've gotten good use out of them before this has happened and really, doesn't everything eventually break? I don't care what anyone says, I love these... and my guinea pigs have never had any complaints :)

This is by far the worst water bottle I have ever purchased. The first day of having my ferret this water bottle came off it's holder three times in one day. After I witnessed it fall right on top of my ferret I chucked it to the trash as the pet store would not return it. Don't let that more expensive price tag fool you! I now have the cheap basic bottle and my ferrets love it. Do not waste your money on this Flat-Bac.

If I could give this any less stars, I would. The bottle started leaking right away and would not stop. It even got worse with less water within it. Will be returned as soon as possible.

I bought this for my ratties but it falls apart. LEAKS happen all the time. I had to switch to a water bowl. the suction cups also fail

I Hate The Memories...

When I first purchased my gerbils, I needed a water bottle that could hang from their aquarium. Well.. the suction cups WOULDN'T suction on, even if we watered the suction cups.. So then we decided to tape it on with duck tape. Then it would LEAK we tried so many ways for it to stop leaking, but it WOULD NOT stop! Finally 2 days later, we decided to purchase a lixit bottle that would hand fro, our tank perfectly fine. Moral of this story.. don't purchase this water bottle :P

i only give this water bottle three stars, because i really like the flat back and the way it attaches to the cage. but it leaks. i've gone through three of these, and the first two didn't keep water in at all. it gushed out the tip. the one i'm using now, works okay, but it still leaks for a long time after i put it in.

Leaks non stop

This is the worst water bottle I have ever purchased. Its selling point is its "leak free spring action ball" but this claim is very misleading. My rats have trouble drinking because the spring is so strong that they cant move the ball, yet it still leaks all over the place? I have two rats and I have to fill this bottle every 3 days, before I got this bottle, which was a replacement for my smaller, old, leaky bottle, I was filling their bottle once a week or less. I have had this product for two months and the bottle holder is beginning to become worn, it will become unusable in another two months or less.

This water bottle was a huge disappointment. The very day I got it and set it up, it leaked everywhere. I am used to water bottles leaking for a few seconds after installed, so I figured it would stop soon. However, about thirty minutes later when I went to check on my furry little friends, I found that their bedding was absolutely soaked on the side of the cage with the new bottle. My rats were up on their platform with little wet feet just staring at me as if to say "What the heck mom?". I would not reccommend this product. Hopefully whatever the problem is gets solved soon.

GREAT water bottle!

My two rats, Tribble and Truffle, love this water bottle so much! I love the flat back, because its very easy to put on my cage. For the first five minutes, it leaks a little bit (I put a little bowl under it, and then once it stops leaking I take out the bowl) but after that there is no leaking. We've used this water bottle with previous rats (Sparkles, Nibbles, Ginger and Honey) and they loved it! It has always been a great buy, and every time I get a new rat everyone encourages me to get this water bottle. I highly recommend it!

this bottle is one of a kind. and not in a good way. i used this for about 3 weeks and now it has a hole in the side . now i know what your thinking that the critters did it . the answer is no they did not do it . the hole is where you slide the bottle onto the container. i use this bottle for sugar gliders and only refill it everyother day thats not alot of time for normal ware and tear. this bottle is junk. i expected it to leak some because i have nver had a water bottle that didnt leak but this one takes the cake. it got an actual hole. i am very upset and will be calling the company that makes this.

I first got it because it was all cute looking and it could suction to the side of my tank wall, which I loved. Once I got home and put water in it, IT LEAKED LIKE CRAZY! After one drop fell, another drop would start to fall. I used a method to stop the leaking but then water doesnt dispense! I'm very disappointed with this product :( I wanted to keep it too... Now I have to try and teach my hamster to drink from a bowl until I find another bottle.

Buyer Beware

If you purchase this water bottle be very careful. After I installed this water bottle for my rats I noticed that they appeared to be drinking but the water level in the bottle remained the same. After two days I was getting very concerned and while inspecting the bottle I found that it has a clear plastic plug that will seat itself perfectly inside the drinking tube and prevent water from coming out, After removing the plug the water bottle leaks but I would rather have that than dehydrated rats! If you decide to use this product be very careful, depending on the size of your bottle it may be to late when you realize your pet hasn't been able to drink for days.
