"I like the size of the cage and is roomy enough for my 3 rats, however it's hard to clean. It's too heavy to carry. The floors are hard to get in and out if you want to clean them. It seems to always smell even after I clean it. I think maybe that the plastic absorbs it. The wheel was never used and the hammock was destroyed as a chew toy within the first week. I wouldn't recommend it."

"I got this cage for my two rats about 6 months ago and I really don't like it. It is hard to take down to clean and the tray smells like urine even after I bleach it. The doors are small so it is hard to put hammocks and litter boxes in. I use fleece cage liners and it is hard to put them in because you can't clip them to the tray."

"For the price, yes this cage is roomy for (at the very most) 4 rats. As far as quality goes, however, this cage is pretty bad. I have 2 rats and they chewed three huge holes on the bottom of the cage that i have to keep reinforcing with tape everyday until my Critter Nation gets here. And they have chewed off the two black plastic tabs that hold the cage down. I really wish I didn't buy this cage because its ALL plastic except the metal bars on the outside, which doesn't make any sense because the only animals that will be house in this type of cage are small animals, which chew a ton. Cleaning is annoying because you have to remove all the shelves, which means that you have to take the animals out of the cage and pop each of the shelves out (which is really a hassle if you have a ton of stuff in the cage because you have to take it all out to get the shelves out.) then wipe down the disgusting trenches on the sides of the shelves which is where urine and feces will accumulate.
If you're looking only at space, this cage is okay, but if you're looking at quality and space, I would look elsewhere."

Poor Quality for Cost,

"I bought this cage as an upgrade for my two pet rats. I was super impressed with all the good reviews, and although it is pricey, I thought it would be worth it. I was wrong.
Assembly was a total pain. The clips to attach the base to the upper cage did not fit right - I had to bend the bars to make it lock in.
The ramps and shelves feel cheap and flimsy. The shelves do not stay in place, but rather slide along the cage bar. As other reviewers have stated, the shelves also have grooves along the edge that collect urine and feces (but if they weren't there the stuff would probably drip out of the cage.....yuck!)
The hammock is a cheap plasticy feeling material. Very thin and not at all soft.
My boys seem to love the wheel, but I doubt it is good for their feet since it is wire mesh. I will probably be buying them a different one that is solid so they don't hurt their feet.
Pros: It is very spacious. Not too bad to clean - I've had to deal with much worse.
Overall, I thought for the price I paid that the quality would be a lot better. I've had other cages in the past that gave much more bang for my buck."

"Can't say enough about this cage. Someone left and abandoned "Mickey" at my work site, so I decided to adopt him. He was in a medium sized one level cage; not even tall enough for him to stand completely up in. I immediately went to Petsmart and they had only had one left in stock. I purchased it, assembled it at work, and took it home. Mickey is now living in his 4 level luxurious townhome. The box does not do it justice. The living quarters boast a huge 8 sq feet of "home space" for your pet. And the ramps stay secure and are safe to use. Mickey learned within 5 minutes where the doors are, and he's learned that when the bottom door is open, he gets to come out. His favorite spot? The hammock. He has made this is sleeping quarters and by the way he acts, he couldn't be happier with him new home."

"I have two female rats in this cage. I love the size and the versitility to move, add, subtract shelves and toys. The bottom of the cage is easy to clean, but my rats always mess all over the selves, which is gross... I was having to wipe up after then several times a day. I've put a litter box on the one remaining shelf and replaced the other shelves with more hammoks and toys. Now they just have an occasional accident on the shelf. My rats climb all over this cage and like to perch on top when I leave the doors open. Perfect cage for two very active rats!"

"I bought this cage for my chinchilla, overall it's very sturdy and I LOVE the deep base. I originally had my chinchilla in the All Living Things starter kit which has a very shallow pan and allowed my chinchilla to kick his bedding out.
The levels are very sturdy and make little noise when Thor decides to jump from level to level.
The only thing I do not like is the wheel, I do not like to use wire mesh for wheels at all, but it's easily fixed by replacing it with the Super Pet Comfort Wheel. Overall, I LOVE this cage!"

"You people are crazy to say this cage isnt amazing, and for only 100$ you get a GREAT cage for your rat! I have to admit the shelves were a bit complicated but I am used to those types of shelves with my Critter Trail cages for my hamsters. This cage is HUGER then what it seems to be! My rats couldn't be any happy, as am I! I recommend this cage for any one that has 2+ Rats or Chincillas, although 4 fit in it nicely, no more then 6 should be in it."

"I constantly skipped over this cage because the box and pictures make it look smaller than it actually is. When I got it home and set it up, I was amazed! My rats looked like postage stamps in their new cage! They love all the space to play in and are clearly happier! If you're not ready to commit to a cage like the Critter or Ferret Nation cages but still want to provide and excellent, pet-friendly home to your rats - this is it!"

Don't get this for a chinchilla,

"Okay so this cage was pretty easy to assemble without having to really read the instructions but I had to give it a 3 in assembly since I just couldn't attach the clips to it so that it couldn't detach from the base. I have to admit this cage is pretty big and has lots of room. But my chinchilla started trying to nibble on the plastic ladders which look of cheap material and looks like they can break easily. I thought this was expensive for the kind of material that it's made of... I returned it back to the store. Would not recommend this for owners of chinchillas or other small animals which tend to chew on everything :("

"This cage is great! I had 2 female rats living in a Super Pet Deluxe Critter Home and I upgraded them to this cage. I love it. I love the colors and my rats love the hammock. I like the multi-levels and that I can add toys all over the cage to keep my rats occupied. I also love that it is pretty big. The box that the cage comes in does no justice to show how big it really is. My ratties love the cage too. The climb up and down and run from one level to the next all day long.
The only problem I saw with this cage is the wire wheel that it comes with. I had no use for that wheel because I bought a Super Pet Comfort Wheel and was able to find a matching blue one.
This cage is worth every penny."

A Good Cage for the Price,

"My two female rats, Iris and Luna love this cage. It is much bigger than the picture lets on and is a good bargain for size compared to many other cages. It isn't terribly hard to assemble, although the shelves can be a real pain while you try to position them. Cleaning is somewhat easy, all you have to do is dump and clean the pan and wipe off the shelves. It is a good idea to wash the shelves every once and a while, as they can start to smell. Also, there are these odd gutter like grooves in the shelves which collect feces and such, which i hate cleaning.. I like the shelves otherwise, because my ratlets can climb and it gives lots of space for accessories. Right now i have a large igloo, a hammock, a super sleeper, various toys and a wheel inside the cage. And yes, the wheel is not of the best quality, but my rats love running on it so I have no real complaint with it. I like the two doors even though I only use the top one, because its really adorable when my rats crowd up at it when they see me. Maybe not top quality, but a good find for everyone who wants a spacious cage for their pet."

"I got this cage over 6 mos ago for my 4 girls, and just bought another one for the 2 male rats i just adopted!
My ratties looove this cage! It is massive with tons of room for hide aways, litter boxes, the works. The shelves gave me trouble at first, but i have had it so long cleaning is a cinch now. I have plenty of chewy tows for them so they don't shew on teh levels or the litter pan.
I hooked the wheel on top of the cage so when I open the door to them climb around and play outside, they can use it then. I wanted the space the wheel took up to put a litter box in it. The hammock is actually really nice and soft, they really love using it.
I couldn't put more then 5 small female or 3 large male rats in this cage. It is big, but not big enough for anymore then the number above. If you want something for more then above, get a Martins or Critter Nation.
I def recommend this cage! Its a great buy for the price!"

"I got this cage for my three rat girls. Since then I had gotten one more and she fits in just fine. The cage was super easy to put together, I probably had it finished in 10 minutes. Even the shelves that are sometimes difficult on other cages were really easy to move around in here because the body of the cage is flexible. Cleaning is just as easy as assembly, I think. My girls love the cage, I haven't put the wheel in but I might one day to change it up some. The cage is just really roomy and the rats have plenty of room to spread out."

"I got this for my hamster because I had bought one that was not good for him at first and wanted the best I could find with bars that he could not fit through and this is it. It's HUGE and lots of room for houses and wheels and things like that on each platform as well as on the bottom floor, it's so perfect, my hamster I was told to be a few months old and he has not escaped, the bar spaces are the same as on the one I had him in before and he couldn't escape there either so for younger and older hamsters this is a paradise :)"

"I just purchased this cage for my two female rats that are about 3 months old. I spent a large amount of time researching the best option for them. When I started reading about this cage I was a little apprehensive about the space, from the photo provided it seemed a little small. But after reading other reviews and measuring out the size I realized that this cage is huge! Since I do not live in America I had to ship it, which also meant I ended up paying double the price, yet it is still worth the money. This cage is easy to clean, fairly priced, very large, and I would recommend it to anyone that loves their rats very much and wants the best for them! Setting up the cage was fairly simple, but much like any other product that is not put together there are some confusing moments. Another thing I like about this cage is the wire spacing, my two female rats are very small and it was extremely hard for me to find a large suitable cage for them but this cage met the requirements! Overall, I am extremely happy with this cage and if you are thinking about purchasing this particular cage I would 100% recommend this cage!"

"I WAS LOOKING AND LOOKING FOR A CAGE FOR MY 2 HAIRLESS RATS THAT ARE ABOUT 2 MONTHS OLD! IT WAS HARD FINDING A CAGE WHERE THE BARS WERENT TOO FAR APART. THIS CAGE HAD ONLY 1/2' SPACING SO IT WAS PERFECT AND ALSO THE MULTI LEVELS AND THE WHEEL PLUS THE HAMMOCK! THE CAGE IS VERY ROOMY, IF I WANTED I COULD HAVE AT LEAST 2 MORE RATS! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAGE TO ANYONE!!"

"I bought this cage 2 weeks ago for my 4 girl ratties they love it. This is a big cage excellent for my 4 girls. Cleaning does take a little time but is well worth it for all the room they have. The girls especially like the wheel it comes with. My girls don't chew on their cages so that is not an issue here.. I love how deep the pan is so all the petfresh stays in the cage not on the floor. Would definetly recommend this cage if you are looking for a big cage for rats. you will not be dissapointed with this one."

"When I was doing research online, I thought this cage would be perfect for my two girl rats, Pearl and Harriet. It was, and I was overwhelmed with how big it was when it was assembled. It's HUGE! The levels are roomy, the food dish can fit a bunch of food, the wheel is big enough and no feet or tails get stuck, and my rats don't use the hammock but it's very soft and big. As for cleaning, all i have to do is suck the bedding out with the vacuum and remove the top to replace the bedding. The pan is deep so bedding is not usually kicked out. I'm still trying to figure out what to put on the shelves though, it's so big!"
