"This was the first cage I ever bought and it is what made me a SuperPet fan! I inherited a hamster so I needed a cage fast, I went in and bought the cage. It was very easy to assemble, my hamster understood the water bottle imeadiately.
Very easy to clean, quick assembly. This is a perfect starter cage, and eventually I would recommend adding Critter Trail Two onto it for more room as your hamster grows up.
The hook on the pan broke off, but it does not weaken the stability of the cage. The water bottle is nearly impossible to clean, so I would recommend buying the SuperPet replacement bottle with the nozzle."

"I just got my first and new hamster, a female Chinese Dwarf Hamster named Cinnamon and she loves this cage. It only took me about 7 minutes to fully assemble it and it is bigger than I thought it would be. The bottle doesn't leak like some reviews said. The hole is small, but the metal cap can be taken off, revealing a larger, easier to fill hole. Cinnamon can climb the bars of the cage, but the spaces are too small for her to fit through. She loves sleeping in the hanging grass nest and loves when I rock it back and forth. Overall this is a great product that works especially well with dwarf hamsters."

"I bought this product along with our first hamster. It was relatively easy to put together. It is plastic so you have to be careful not to snap a piece by forcing it to fit, but any cage will have that problem. The water bottle is the biggest problem, it leaks, creating a place my hamster finds Ideal for urination (kinda a problem!) as well as his inability to drink. I have heard that this particular design could cause problems, and I believe it! The wheel does have a problem but since it isn't squeaking it shouldn't bother anyone very much. The nest was a great idea. And considering it is free, you shouldn't expect a whole lot out of it. It lasted for about six months (great amount of time) but then it fell apart. Because it's made out of grass, hamsters will chew on it no matter what. Cleaning isn't hard at all. I take off the entire top of the cage, leaving the wheel, water bottle, etc. attached and clean it that way. After I re-attach it I clean the extra parts. All in all, This product is awesome for a first time Hamster, etc. owner. The tubes are easy to add on to create more space if you want to but my hamster went 7 months and was just fine. Definitely a two-claws up."

"The water bottle leaks so we will have to get a new one plus I am not sure that Kywee is getting enough to drink with it! The wheel isnt really squeeky but more rattlely! My daughter does need help when done cleaning the cage as the cage doesnt go back together easily! We took the wheel out one night as we were staying in a hotel and kywee got stressed so we wont be doing that again. Other then the wheel and water bottle the cage is good for someone to start out with! May upgrade depending on my daughter staying interested!"

"We bought this for our daughter's first dwarf hamster two nights ago and so far it has been fine. No escapes as of yet. Assembly was a breeze. We haven't cleaned it yet but I don't see it being any trouble - not sure if the whole top part has to be disassembled & reassembled each time, but doubt it. I gave 4 stars for quality only because, in my opinion, NOTHING is made like it ought to be any more but still, this seems to be relatively sturdy. Of course, my children are 11 & 13 and we just aren't too rough on things. My son now wants a hamster and we will buy the same cage for him. The bottom part is nice & deep to hold lots of bedding with not a lot getting kicked out. Comes with everything you need to get started. All in all, a very nice hamster cage at a decent price."

"Great cage! It was te perfect size for my 2 robo dwarf hammies, Katie and Sadie. They love the wheel and all the other features. The wheel is a tad noisy, but not unbearable. Set up was above average, fitting together with ease. All in all, a great cage, i'd reccomend it to any beginner!"

"Pros: I got this cage for my two gerbils, Jay-Jay and Poppi. I've had them for a week. They LOVE it! The tubes are easy to clean (all you have to do is run water down them), I can easily pick up my gerbils through the top, and the gerbils don't escape or chew on the plastic. I also liked that there was lots of extra room to put accessories in. I can't wait to get another crittertrail cage!
Cons: When I filled the water bottle and put it in the cage, it leaked so constantly that I had to take it out. The nest is way too small for a full grown gerbil- poor Jay-Jay could barely fit her whole body in it!"

"I bought this cage for my very first hamster and I love it!! Its great the water bottle leaks at first but it warns you in the directions. The weel is slightly noisy and its a little small for a energetic teddy bear hamster like mine but other than that its absolutly perfect!!!!! Get this cage!!!!"

"I bought this for my dwarf hamster, Lily, and it was excellent!! She didnt like the hanging grass house, but she liked the sleep-n-slumber by super pet. The wheel is a little noisy, but put some canola oil or vegetable oil on the small green thing that connects to the cage. Also, the food bowl kept getting bedding in it because of her burrowing, but it was OK. Everything else was great from cleaning it out, to adding the expansion kit 1.

"For years and years I have had hamsters in my classroom. Last spring I had to get a secondary home for our dwarf hamster for take home visits as our old cage no longer had tight closures on the doors. I bought this cage as it had the needed openings to make caring for the hamster much easier. My class and hamster liked it so well we now use it as the primary home. This cage is easy to maintain, easy to carry and offers plenty of chances for excercise, although we did replace the running wheel with a wheel that was easier for our dwarf to use. We took out the hanging nest as our little guy didn't do well with it. But we added a couple towers for sleep quarters and a bath powder section."

"We purchased this for a Robo Dwarf Hamster. It is plenty big for probably 2 dwarf hamsters. I bought it in store on sale and was a little unsure about the quality from looking at the box, but once it was together, I was very pleased! I had to return to the office after I bought it and my 13 year old put it together before I got home. So it was rather easy as she had no problems. My only concern is the water bottle as I'm not sure he is drinking well with the pin hole in the supplied bottle. I am going to purchase a 4 oz ball bearing bottle to make sure. We will probably be expanding later on but it is a great starter!"

"I got this cage when I bought my robo hamster about a year ago. This is a great cage if your just starting off, and need a good starter cage. Assembly is easy, and its very simple and fast to clean. Although its a good cage, my hamster is growing bored of it and needs more space to move around because it is a small cage. I plan on buying him a bigger cage, but I highly recommend this product!"

"The cage is great. My hamster was never able to escape, and completely loved it. He'd run around all night and especially onto his wheel (which was pretty noisy). My hammie uses the nest, but he never slept in it. He'd only run through it and made his bed in the corner of his cage. The water bottle also leaked, but you can buy one with a ball for $5-6. The food bowl is also kind of small, so you might need to buy another one that your hammie can sit in. You'll definitely need to add items to entertain him like things that he can run through, like tubes/logs/toilet paper rolls. After a week though, we realized that this cage was pretty compact, even for one dwarf hamster. We ended up making him a playpen from a plastic tub (like for laundry) and attached on Super Pet CritterTrail Discovery Deluxe Habitat. He now uses this one to exercise and to play and the other one to sleep in during the day."

"this cage is really easy to put together, but hard to take appart for cleaning the way the directions tell you. It is a great size for my russian dwarf hamster, but I think it might be to small for 2 regular size hamsters or 3 or more dwarfs. my hamster cant find any way to escape, which is good, because I have 2 mouse-loving cats :) . The doors on the front and top are very loud when you open them and sometimes, you really have to pull to get them open. I love the food bowl that is stuck on a peg so your hamster can not move it around and tip it over in the cage. thats a really good design. overall this is an O.K cage, but I would nt recoment it to a friend because of its numerous flaws. I would recomend a 'super pet crittertrail one, two or three' my previous rodents all enjoyed those cages alot."

"I got my hamster,Rosscoe, about 2 weeks ago and this his second cage because the other cage was too big. He didn't go up the tubes and he was cramed on the bottom, so I desided to get him this cage because it didn't have tubes and has lots of runing room. The wheel is noisey and the water bottle leaks but other than that it is an awsome cage. I would more recommend it more for for darwf hamster owners because of the space. Rosscoe also didn't like the hanging hut thing, so I put it on the bottom, but he steal never went in it so i got him a new house that he now goes in a sleeps in it. Rosscoe LOVES the cage. I would recommend it for any first time (more to darwf) hamster owners."

"This cage has good qualities and bad qualities.
The Good: -nice space -connects to other cages -deep base holds bedding -hanging bed -wheel is pretty silent -size is good but I connected 2 for more running space
The Bad: -food dish is only good for treats, not everyday use (too small) -hanging bed moves too much so hammy can't get in -waterbottle is cheap
I do not like the waterbottle or food dish. The dish hooks on a pole and is triangle. A hammy food dish should be round and large enough to sit in. The bottle is very cheap and has a small hole to fill it up. Bottle should have a ball bearing and not just an open hole. I bought a deluxe Crittertrail bottle (it was $6.50) to go in place of the one I threw out. The wheel had this lotion on the inside pole that I think is used as a lubricant to make it quieter. CritterTrail wheels are all very loud. They sound like helicopters. (I've had 4 different CT cages). You can remove the wheel from the base by pinching the ball on the end and I guess adding lotion to make it quieter. Maybe use some Vaseline after you clean it to shut it up?
Anyway, this cage is good. I got 2 and connected them. My hammy loves the tubes but does not like when they are vertical."

"The first month or so, this cage worked just fine. My gerbil was too nervous to use the wheel and stayed in its nest the whole time. Now my gerbil is very energetic and kicks the bedding all over the floor. At night the wheel sounds like a car engine, even through 2 walls. The water bottle soaks the bedding in just one night.
I would recommend buying a different water bottle and a quieter wheel if you get this cage.
There was one cage that had the ability to add a plastic fish tank underneath to allow the gerbil/hamster to burrow. This would solve the problem of the mess on the floor. Another suggestion is to use very fine sand instead of bedding. It absorbs moisture and dries quickly."

"My son & I went into a pet store on his birthday last year to buy a simple hermit crab...& exited w/two dwarf hamsters instead. My initial reaction was not the greatest, but I have grown fond of the adorable little creatures over the past year. The only thing that was an issue with them was their cages. I have been through three of them & I must say that this one is just ideal. Cleaning it is very convenient, & that has always my main concern (the thrill of these guys wore off about three weeks into it for my son, so I have assumed the postion of cage cleaner..go figure). Also, they seem to be happier in this cage, which I believe is due to the fact that there is nice air flow. The other two cages were enclosed plastic contraptions. I definitely recommend this cage!"
