I got this type of water bottle for my 2 rats. I got the plastic 32 oz one, though. It dosen't fit into the cage bars properly, but it still works. My biggest complaints are that it makes a lot of noise when they drink from it and it starts to drip if I bump into the cage or the cat jumps on top of it. This bottle works better than any of my other bottles before, I am getting 2 more, one for ratty back up and the other for my brother and my piggies:) Definitley reccommended.

When I first bought this bottle, it leaks excessively to the point where I would refill the bottle and it would leak out ENTIRELY overnight. It made me incredibly frustrated as I tried different methods of filling the bottle.

UNTIL... I read a review that directed me to do the following: Fill the bottle all the way (no bubble), twist the cap on not too loose or too tight, turn the bottle around so that it creates a flow (you should be able to see bubbles reach the top). This indicates that the bottle is working.

YES it is really frustrating at first and they should include a manual since there is a very SPECIFIC way for this bottle to work. But once it works, it works VERY WELL.

No leaking and non-destructible.

This water bottle is GREAT! It is easy to get water out! But my only 2 cons are it glass and believe it or not it is TOO BIG for my cage! I had to clear most of the bedding out from under it... But I do recommend getting this water bottle!

Not a good permanent bottle

I wasn't very happy about this bottle.
It only lasted for a couple of months, and then started leaking. I don't mean a few drops every now and then, I mean almost 2 drops every second! I would fill the water bottle, and by noon, it would be empty.

It IS durable and chew proof--however, that doesn't excuse its poor capacity for holding water. :(

This would only be good as a temporary water bottle--I recommend trying another brand for your water bottles.

I have been using this with my rats and its been working just fine but my husband did tighten it up till it was even with the front and if you have the lid to tight water does not come out. I notice my 4 rats all at the water so I figured something was wrong I took the lid off shook it and put it on but not as tight and it worked just fine. I like the duck so I can look over and see the water line :)

My previous bottle lost a washer that was the sealer for the water. I LOVE THAT THIS ONE IS GLASS, IS OUTSIDE OF THE CAGE AND IS METAL ON THE BOTTOM.

What more could you ask for a chew proof durable water bottle that easily shows you with the duck level marker when the water is getting low. I especially like that I can santized this by putting in the dishwasher to ensure its truly clean. It keeps water fresher longer than the plastic bottles and it doesnt alter the flavor of the water. I find the plastic bottles make the water smell odd which probably alters the flavor to. The bottle does have to be leveled just right or no water comes out so ensure you test it with your finger after hanging to ensure proper water flow. Otherwise it does not leak at all due to the double ball design. Excellent for gerbils bc its chew proof

I bought this water bottle for my rats a couple days ago and i noticed there was no water coming out of it relatively early on. (Not really sure how you can go 4-5 days with out noticing that your animal isn't getting any water? If it isn't going down and there are no bubbles chances are it's not coming out) We played with it for quite some time to see what was wrong with it. My boyfriend figured out that the spout wasn't all the way in and I finally realized that it doesnt come out at all if you don't fill it up all the way and then put the cap on it. It started coming out much better after that and I haven't had a problem since. So if you're having problems 1. make sure the nozzle is in the bottle all the way and you have filled it up so there are no bubble in the bottle before you tightly put the cap on. Always make sure the water is coming out before you put it on the cage!

Great for 2 years but stopped working

I have both sizes of this water bottle and they have been great for the past two years. The smaller size I use for my gerbils and the larger for my rats. I noticed when checking on my gerbils today the water level had not went down. Since it had been a few days since I changed the water this was very odd. I checked and sure enough the thing would not dispense any water. I refilled it and tried it again, still no luck. Not sure what happened to it. I would still recommend this product because my larger one still works but only if you plan to consistently check it. My babies went a few days without water and I had no idea so just be careful. It does have the positives of being easy to clean and attaches very securely to the cage.

This water bottle is great. It does not leak at all. Since it is glass it releases no chemicals into the water. It is also very cute because of the little floating duckies inside of it which also helps with reading the water level. I would recommend it to any small animal owner.

I bought this because it seemed like it would be more durable and better for my hamster to chew on than plastic. It seemed to be working okay, and only leaked when I first filled it every time. It was EXTREMELY loud because of the stainless steel bottom with the ball inside. My hamster would chew on it constantly at night without stopping and I lost a lot of sleep. Eventually, I went to go refill it and noticed that no water was coming out. I feel so bad that I got such a horrible product for my hamster. I was mad at her for being loud but she was just trying to get water to come out! I'm going and buying a new water bottle today. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Amazing Bottle

We have a yellow naped amazon parrot, he is a medium sized bird, and this works great!!! Only problem is that it leaks, so we have another bowl underneath it. The other thing is that it needs a stronger spring to hold it in place. Tiki our bird, has made it drop on many occasions. A plus is that it is made out of glass, and holds up very well to being dropped.

this thing did not fit on my hamsters cage at all it would either fall off or tip. Anyways this thing is very big for a hamster or a gerbil to drink they wouldnt even drink a third of that.the day i got it went back to the store .

I bought this water bottle for my chinchilla since it is glass. It has proven to be a great water bottle. It doesn't leak, which can be a difficult quality to find in a water bottle. I attach it to the outside of the cage, so this doesn't allow my chinchilla to chew it. My chinchilla drinks out of the bottle with ease, and it is a great addition to his home! :) I refill it when I clean out my chinchilla's cage every week, so the water lasts awhile for my chinchilla. I also bought the brush from petsmart to clean the bottle with.

I purchased this water bottle for my Chinese Dwarf hamster because his old one leaked all over his cage. This one was a great decision. The price is decent, and the product is great. Their smallest bottle does seem a bit large, but it fits on the cage that I own fine.

Your hamster will have a problem getting water from the bottle if you fill the bottle all the way. Unlike other bottles, you will need to leave a little bit of empty space. I noticed that when I filled the bottle completely, it seemed air tight, and nothing was coming from the bottle. When I left a little space, the water came out easily for me and my hamster (I tested it by tapping the end lightly with my fingertip).

The double ball spout keeps from over-leaking. Most bottles will experience a small amount of leaking.

The floating duck is a great idea as well. It's great to be able to see from a distance what your hamster's water level is at.

I will definitely be buying this bottle in the future for other animals.
