best hay hanger ive seen

The sticker on the front of mine looks a bit different than pictured. Just to make sure you get the dimensions right the one I'm talking about is approximately 8 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide. I can't speak for this being a food feeder yet, but I am beyond happy with this thing as a hay feeder. Some hay does get stuck in the back sometimes but its really easy to free that, and 99% of the hay ends up in my guinea pigs mouth, not on the floor of his cage, and he has no trouble getting to it. The only con is that it takes up a bit of room in the cage. It came with a mounting bracket and a screw, apparently your supposed to be able to attach it to the bars that way. I just put a long twistie tie around the bracket and twisted it around the bar in the back, that way he cant get to the twistie tie in the back, and he cant knock over the dispenser. I can put more hay in the back than you can get in most hay hangers I've seen, it keeps the hay contained much better, and he has no trouble getting to the hay. I'm happy

is it worth it?

My chubby rabbit, Buttercup, is the most spoiled bunny ever. One day, I decided to buy this pet feeder to see if she likes the feeder. So I gave it a try, apparently my rabbit doesn't like the feeder. 1. when the food has gone low, Buttercup can not reach her food because her head is too big. 2.it's in her way when she was moving her bedding around (she likes to dig, and push her bedding around.) 3. She would destroy the tray without you knowing or looking. Buttercup chewed and destroy it before I had the chance to return it. She rather have a doggy bowl of food than the feeder when she eats. I guess it depends on the rabbit's personality. But it wasn't worth the money to buy the feeder if your rabbit destroys it you return your item.

I got 2 of these for my pigs who had to be separated ( dominance issue ) and they work nicely. They have a lot of storage for the food so it will last them a good week or so, before they run out depending on how many guineas you have and what their eating habits are. It is easy and simple to install and works great if you decide to put it on the inside of their cage. My only complaint would be that if you use bedding then it gets all in it and they lose interest. So you have to clean out the top layer of bedding from it so they can reach the food. But I will soon be switching to fleece so that won't be a problem. It is also a good place to put their veggies. :)

I bought this to use for my ferret Rolo and filled it up with kibble - big mistake. He had tons of fun digging all the kibble out so it went ALL OVER HIS CAGE. Also, with just one ferret his food wouldn't be that fresh if you were filling it up all the way, since its got a very high fat + protein content and spoils quicker than low quality kibble.
It was fine to use as a regular bowl, but it was difficult to take out and clean it, and more expensive than a regular bowl. I gave it to my brother for his rabbit, and they seem to like it better.

Would definitely not recommend this feeder to anyone with a rabbit, as the rabbit would dig and pushed all the food to the bottom of the cage.

I like this feeder. Before, my guinea pig would tip over his food dish, and then proceed to use it as a bathroom. This one he can't tip over, and the food doesn't get spoiled!

On the one side, this holds a lot of food. I don't have to give my guinea pig pellets everyday, for this feeder dispenses them, and he isn't able to use it as a toilet.
On the other side, he leaves crumbs when he chews, so they build up at the bottom of the feeder, blocking the sifter and forming a huge chunk of spit-y guinea pig food crumbs. Also, sometimes the feeder doesn't dispense properly, and I have to drag down the food with my fingers.
All in all, though, a pretty good buy. I would recommend.

I just recently moved from California to Oregon and needed a feeder that would be able to hold enough food for a few days so I could go on trips to visit my friends, and this was the best feeder I could find. So far so good(: My guinea pig Gunner loves it, and he loves to dig through the food to get to the best parts. I haven't actually had to use it yet since I haven't gone on any trips, so I just use it as a food bowl for him. I love that he can't tip it over and spill his food all over his cage, and that it gets rid of most of the food dust. Overall a great product that keeps his cage a whole lot cleaner(: I would recommend it to anyone with a guinea pig that will need to leave them for a couple of days.

I am always going on little 2 -4 day trips on the weekends. Half of the time I take them. Sometimes the campground doesn't allow pets so I have to leave them home. They love this feeder. My guinea pigs don't over stuff themselves with food. They like to eat tons of hay and then eat some of their pellets and then run around their cage. The bin holder for our two guinea pigs would probably last them 1-2 weeks because mine don't eat a lot. I like that the food ACTUALLY comes down when there is enough room.

This bin feeder looks good for animals like guinea pigs and rabbits but trust me, this is not ment for smaller animals like dwarf hamsters and gerbils. They will go inside of it like it's a hiding place. But overall its pretty good quality.

I just bought this for my guinea pig. It was dusty, but it easily wiped off after a wipe with a wet cloth.
I like the arrangement of colours that you can buy, and the red that I picked out is very nice. I love the sifter at the bottom that takes out all of the dust, and how it holds your g-pig's food so you don't have to refill it often.
The price is a bit much, but worth it. I just have two problems, one big, one small, about this lovely food dish.
The small one; when you have it attached to the wall, the lid opens the wrong way so it's a hassle to add the food to the dish. But, since you don't have to fill it often, that's OK.
The big one? I didn't get the screw that you use to attach it to the cage bars! I'll have to return it for a different colour because mine won't attach to the cage bars! Right now it's just leaning against the cage without being off the ground.
My guinea pig still isn't very used to it, but I suspect he soon will be.
So far, so good-ish. Make sure to see if yours has the screw with it!
Pros: basically everything...
Cons: mine had no screw to attach it to the cage with!

I have a lionhead/dwarf mix bunny and this has been absolutely perfect for her hay! I give her a variety of hays, from timothy to orchard grass to oat hay, and they all work very well. This has definitely helped to keep her cage cleaner and her conditions more sanitary, as she used to potty in her hay piles. Some rabbits may still scatter some of the hay, mine does not, so this has been a lifesaver. I have never used this has an actual "feeder" but for hay it is wonderful!

My rabbits would easily dump their dishes out within minutes of me pouring the food for them, so I wanted something that they couldn't dump.
We bought two of these, and it works great for both my destructive rabbits At first one tried digging all the food out, but he quickly got bored of it, and now leaves his food in there. He's only managed to pull it off the latch once, because it was empty and he got mad. Other than that, the product is REALLY simple to put together on horizontal bars, we haven't tried it on the vertical bars side. Consists of 5 parts, the food holder, a hinge lid, a screw, plastic nut, and the bracket. Pretty self explanatory how it goes together.
Would recommend this for rabbit owners.
Pros: easy assembly, less time feeding, durable
Cons: food can be dug out., determined animal can pull it off.

Not good for ferrets

We thought this would be a great feeding solution for our two ferrets. However, no matter how much food you put in there, they will dig until it's all out. Also, they learned after a couple of weeks how to remove the feeder from the snap in holder for the side of the cage. Then they started to chew on the plastic part that holds the feeder in place. It's a bummer. Probably works well for other animals though.

We currently have 3 Ferrets and Ferrets being Ferrets thought it would be a great idea to dig out all of the food the first day we filled it up. This looks like it would work with a small non-digging critter. Although it was entertainment for the Ferrets the slush of water and ferret food in their cage was not great.

I love for my bunny

I now have 3 and I love them. I found it pretty easy to attach to the cage. You do have to hold the screw when attaching it to the cage. I find this is best done by attaching the holder alone and then sliding the bin into place. I also only use mine for dry rabbit pellets. But works great for that.
Pros: easyly moved hold a good amount of food.
Cons: plastic so can be chewed
