Awesome!,

"I keep a lot of crickets for my reptiles and amphibians and have three of these of various sizes. They are the best thing for keeping crickets and are easy to use for feeding. The crickets hide up in the tubes so you don't have to catch them. You can put the end of the tube right into the reptile enclosure or into a container with calcium/vitamin powder. You basically choose how many crickets to feed by how hard you shake the tube. :)
You might want to have two Kricket Keepers so you can rotate them for cleaning. Use up all of the crickets in one container and then clean it once it's empty. Then the new group of crickets goes in the clean container so you can use up the older crickets in the other one.
I like to keep the pieces of egg carton that come with the crickets in there also because the crickets like to hide in them (I like to keep them happy while they're here!). When the number of crickets starts getting low in the tubes, I just pull out the piece of carton and they go up in the tubes.
These come with little containers for feed and liquid but you might want to add more. The larger plastic lids from gallon bottles of water work well."

This is a must have!,

"I was in Petsmart one day getting some supplies I needed for my (soon to be frogs) tadpoles. I was looking for a cricket cage to keep my crickets in, and that's when I saw this... a wonderfully built cricket cage! I purchesed it and it keeps all of my crickets where they should be, in their cage! I no longer have to worry about chasing crickets all around the house as I had been dreading before I bought it. And it's also really, really easy to get the crickets out when it comes to chow time! I most certainly recommend this product to all reptile or amphibion pet owners! It's a must have!!!"

Good cage... bad quality.,
September 5, 2009
by Bluuki
from Camarillo, CA
Pros: keeps crickets happy, easy to clean, durable Cons: annoying tubes, hard to remove the top, crickets escape
"I bought this cage to store my pinhead crickets, and keep them happy. Well, they loved the cage and how easy it is to jump out of too. Within a week, I have had at least 8 cricket escapes. Luckily I found all of them and returned them to their cheaply-made cage before they could get injured.
I also found the tubes rather annoying so I just removed them. My crickets hardly used the tubes, and when they did it was difficult to remove them to feed my alligator lizard. They were just a hassle and a waste of space. Other people who reviewed this product found the tubes useful, so I guess it just depend on how you utilize them.
The last thing that really ticked me off with this product is that the top of the cage requires a good amount of strength to remove. Now, I am a pro at taking the top off, but still I had to suffer a whole week of trying to remove a stupid piece of plastic each time my alligator lizard got hungry.
Although I found the quality rather phony, I still don't hate the product itself. It has definitely been useful and I do not regret buying it. I will be more careful though when I buy something that looks so cheap.
3/5 stars. Could have been better."

Amazing!,

Pros: easy to use, fairly durable Cons: none
"I am soo glad that I have these cricket keepers, yes I have 2 of them. To feed my leopard gecko I don't even need to touch the crickets, and to gutload them I transfer a few into the empty on where all the food is. And then I will feed the gutloaded crickets to my baby leopard gecko and then start the process over agian This is an amazing product, and I cant even amagine trying to keep crickets without it."

Easy and simple.,
December 28, 2008

Pros: sturdy, no escapees, easy to use, no touching the crickets! Cons: none really
"I have a bearded dragon that I got for christmas this year and love the lizard but am not too fond of feeding live food. Well, I bought this, and I don't even need to touch a single cricket! You just tap the tube and they fall right out! I tap them into a ziploc bag and dust them before feeding them to my dragon. Great product!"

"This product is awsome. I love the black tube design. The crickets love hidding in the tubes. When it is time to feed your pet you just slide out the tube and shake it over your pets cage and they fall out."

Amazing!,
June 29, 2008
by MandyxPandy

"When I used to own tree frogs, i needed something to keep my crickets in. I found this, and it worked amazingly. The crickets love to hide in the dark tubes, so when its feeding time, all you have to do is pull out the tube and lightly tap it until the amount of crickets you want comes out. I would definitly reccommend this to anyone who needs to feed their animal crickets."

Good Products,

"I own an American Toad, and needed to get a container to hold the crickets. I came to PetSmart to get crickets, and found this small cricket keeper. I love it because the crickets have dark places to "hide", it's easy to feed them to my toad because I don't have to catch them or touch them. It's a great product, and I would definitely recommend it."

"I am the proud owner of a fire-bellied toad and a fire-bellied newt. When I first got the feeder crickets for them I was quite creeped out by the idea of haveing to touch the crickets. Then, I found this wonderful product! I can VERY eaisly dust the crickets with calcium powder, feed them, and give them to my 2 amphibians. I am very impressed with this cage I've had 0 escaped crickets since I bought it!! I love this product!!!"

"When I bought my leopard gecko the petstore lady sold me a regular critter keeper for the crickets and suggested I put a toilet paper roll in there for them to hide in. Maybe that was ok for her because she didn't mind touching them, but for me...not so much. The toilet paper roll thing was impossible. They were always on the outside of the roll and no way to get them out without touching them or having escapees. With the Kricket Keeper the crickets are always inside the tubes and I can shake them right into the cup to dust them. I've never had an escapee and haven't touched a cricket since. It's pretty easy to clean although the insides of the tubes have accumulated cricket goop that won't come off. If you feed live crickets and don't want to touch them, this definitely is a must-have!"

Love It!,
April 25, 2008
by Bookwyrm
from Thorold, ON
"I don't know what I'd do without my cricket keeper! I had been weary of keeping many crickets in my apartment, as my young mountain horned dragon is still small and not eating much yet, so it was meaning more frequent trips to the pet store to keep him fed. I picked up a small cricket keeper, thinking anything that would mean fewer trips out would be worth it. I can't believe how great this is! The tubes make for easy feeding and dusting with calcium powder - no more hunting crickets and trying to grab them with tweezers! It's easy to store and even looks attractive. There's room for lots of crickets, even in the small one, and providing them with food is very simple. It was easy to assemble, easy to clean, and I have no idea what I'd do without it. Norbert enjoys being able to watch the crickets, so I guess it doubles as a dinner theatre. ;)"

Works great.,
December 28, 2007
by Nicole756

"This cricket keeper works great. It makes feeding my lizards and frogs a lot easier. With other keepers, you have to get the crickets out manually, and crickets get all over the place. But when you use the black tubes, the crickets rarely ever get out. But, when I first got the keeper, I lost one of the black tubes while we were moving, so I just let the flap hold it closed. Then I started seeing crickets jumping all over my room. The problems easy to fix though, just tape the flap shut. Over all, this is a great product. And I recommend it to all reptile, and in some case, amphibian owners."

Great product, easy to use,
November 7, 2007
by ceb111481

"I think this product is great, the tubes make feeding time super fast and easy. You just pull one out of the trap doors, shake a couple crickets into the feeding dish (or a bag first for dusting w/ nutrient powder), return the tube to the Kricket Keeper, and voila, it's done. We have the smaller one, which only has 2 tubes, but we buy the small crickets so they don't need as much space as the bigger ones, so it's perfect. It came with 2 small dishes to put cricket feed in also, which is handy, keeps the container cleaner and makes it easy to remove old feed and put in fresh. Cleaning is quick and easy, you just rinse all the pieces with hot water. (No soap or chemicals, those can kill the insects if any residue manages to not get rinsed off completely.) Since we got this container, we have noticed less and less escapees around our apartment, and less cricket deaths since they have a lot more room to scurry around, especially with the 2 tubes. We highly recommend it, our experience with it has been very positive."

Works great!,
November 5, 2007
by Oshadog

"Some other reviews don't really seem to realize this isn't a "critter keeper" for "pets," it's not a 24/7 pet habitat: it's a cage designed specifically to hold feeder crickets and minimize the number that die before feedings. The black tubes give the crickets a clean living space that keeps them from having to crawl all over each other, while at the same time making it easy to feed your reptile/amphibian. You just pull a tube out and shake it into the cage. About one of the other reviews: This cage has tiny openings. They were designed to hold flaps in place over the tube holes- but it's the one big flaw, because these holes DO allow crickets to escape. It's VERY easy to fix though, you just need to put a quarter inch of tape over each one. Problem solved. I love mine, I have 2 bearded dragons and some smaller lizards, this thing keeps me from having to go back to the store every few days for new crickets."
