I've seen videos of people who's tank turns so milky colored its unbelievable! I was expecting the same out come, but if you put the bag on top of the sand and pour the water on the bag, you will still have PERFECT water quality! I was truly amazed at how clear the tank was.

I originally bought 60lbs for my 55 tank.. BIG MISTAKE.. It left my tank extremely cloudy. When most of the sand did settle, all m,y live rocks and other rocks were completely white. I tried to pick up the rocks to tilt the sand off of it all, but it went cloudy again. And btw, it is NOT live sand because live sand comes with water mixed in with it. This is the WORST sand I have ever used. I was sooo excited to get it in, supposed to be free shipping, nope got charged for that too, was supposed to take 2-3 days to ship, nope 2-3 weeks.. I put the sand in 4 days ago and it is STILL cloudy even with 2 Emperor 400 filters running. DO NOT get this sand.

I wouldn't bother with this product. All sand will make your water milky when you add it so I don't have an issue with that, but the fact that they claim this bag of dry sand is "live" doesn't suit me. Sand is only live if it's wet, and even then the bacteria and organisms will start dying off right away (within 48 hours). Save your money and get dry sand, then use live rock which will seed it with good bacteria anyways.

This sand was great, except for the cloudy water. But over night with filter running the water cleared up. People should know the cloudyness does not hurt the fish. My fish seem happy with the sand.

I bought this to use in a dwarf seahorse tank. I found it easy to use and the 5 lb. bag was sufficient to make a depth of 1" in my 5.5 gallon eclipse. I wouldn't recommend adding it to a tank with fish already in. The milky cloud cleared in less than 24 hours. The bag that I got had some whole shells in it which makes the tank look more realistic.

When I first baught this sand I thought it would make Jellybean, my fish, feel more 'at home'. But when i put it into my fish tank it made a milky fog appear. I cleaned the fish tank at least 6 times to see if it was because it was dirty, but the fog still shown. I would hoghly NOT reccomend this for anyone! It was not realistic at all.

over 25 years Marine fish experience, and this is the first sand that has turned an other wise clear tankto a milky white with just the addition of a few cups. Rinsed well yet there is no end to its couding the water. Just the movement of fish stirs it up to make more milk, and bottom sand sifters always look like they are on fire with smoke coming out of their gills. Go with the tired and true wet bagged sand not this recycled ground up rock and coral productr, as its certainly not actuall ocean sand like the other stuff is.

This sand made my aquarium beautiful and it cauht debreeze at the bottom. That made my fishtank healthy for honeydew, my cute guppy and her boyfriend skyblue.
