As a young child, I had 2 of these tanks. This was before I realized that a betta needs AT LEAST a 1.5 gal with a filter and heater in order to thrive.

Simple, efficient, this tank kit comes with everything you need if you're just getting your first betta! However, the selection is limited to violet-blue or magenta, and to be honest, this is my second one as the first cracked underneath. The plastic is fragile, but if cared for by someone who loves the beautiful fish inside, it will do its job well enough -- especially for the price.

I have this product and I use it fairly often. However, I use this tank as a temporary home for one of my Bettas when I need to due tank rearrangements, or when I am quarantining a Betta while using medicine.
This tank is too small to be used as a full time home for a Betta, as it has no space for a heater, or filter.
However, I understand why people choose to house their Bettas in these tanks - but I can't encourage people enough to use 1.5 Gallons AT LEAST!
I'd encourage people to buy bigger tanks, unless you plan on using this tank as a back up on hand or temporary. For the price, and size, this tank (which comes with gravel and a plant) is great for a short term Betta residence.

this tank is a great starter kit for bettas at first i got it for my small blue male and he also loved it but i soon upgraded him to the topfin bettascene (1 gallon) he loves it that same day i bought a white female and put her in chucks old tank she also loves it it is big enough for a small male or female

I got one two years ago on my birthday. I bought another one to keep three females in it. My other betta kit has a snail and 2 dwarf frogs. I have a male betta fish in a five gallon however this is a good starter kit i use my betta kits when i quarantining new fish and as a hospital tank I have a silk plant and a small decoration that's it.
The tank i bought needed a heater so i bought the betta marina heater
Oh yea if you want the light you have to get it separate

My Betta Spacefish lived in this tank for Two years and then I upgraded to a Five Gallon. This year I got a Grove Snail (not Aquatic) and did not Have a tank so I went and used one and it still looks great!

It's small, a little too small, in my opinion, so I try and clean it once a week instead of once a month. But other than that, it's great! The gravel is a cute touch and adds a bit of personality, plus it matches my betta's fins. It's a good start out tank for nonprofessionals new to the world of the fish. I personally no next to nothing about bettas, but this suits me just fine.

This tank is absolutely not a good choice for a betta if you want your betta to live a long healthy life... bettas need at least 2.5 gallons, a heater, and a small filter to thrive. HOWEVER I do think this would be cute as a shrimp tank, with a couple of shrimp in it and some plants or a little cave for them to hide in. It would be a cute starter kit for a child or even for a college room with limited space IF, as I said, you were using it for shrimp, which are actually rather interesting to watch and feed.

This tank is great for young kids who are starting out but if you are older this tank isn't that good because the plant takes up a quarter of the swim space which makes it 1/3 and bettas need at least 2.5 g

My beta fish loved this tank. It has a good amount of space for a few plants and maybe some rocks and shells. My fishy liked it and he had a fair amount of space to swim around in. This tank is easy to clean and has good food.

I got this tank when i first bought my betta fish. I liked how it came with everything i needed. I almost had it for a year, and i think my fish is getting bored of it. I getting a new one soon. The tank is easy to clean. I would recommend this if you are first getting a betta fish.

Although it is an okay-looking kit that includes food, water conditioner, a plant and gravel, its small size is a major flaw. I bought this a few years ago for my first betta but only used it for a week. I live in a colder climate, and it was too small to accommodate my mini-heater and internal thermometer. It was cramped enough with just the plant. The plant is plastic and not a good choice for bettas, because it may damage their fins. Though it includes food, most bettas won't eat flake food anyway. The most bothersome thing about this tank though was the frequent water changes (100% every 4 days) it required - small water volume means water quality deteriorates quickly. Since both poor water and frequent changes stress fish, it is a lose-lose situation. Currently I only use it to transport fish, and since I do this very rarely it was not worth the money.
Pros: cheap, comes with water conditioner, okay to transport fish
Cons: most bettas won't eat flake food, plastic plant may damage fins, too small to heat, hard to keep clean

I love this tank and my Betta's do to! I have 3 male betta's separate and I have one of them in this tank he love's it. I've had him for a year now and I have been buying this same kit because of it's great value. The kit comes with everything you need to accommodate your Betta (Gravel, Plant, Aquarium, Water Conditioner, Food). Out of all the Betta kits that are out there I prefer this one because it has a closed lid with vents which allows your Betta to breathe. Most other kits have open roofs and Betta's are jumpers so this tank is very safe and good quality! I do a complete water change weekly and add a capful of water conditioner and some aquarium salt. Aquarium salt helps keep parasites away from your betta and it promotes health. I Would recommend this product for children and adults who do not have much space and who are on a budget!

this is a sturdily built tank, and is great for small animals, but not bettas. right now, I have my african dwarf frog in it. He loves it, since he used to be in a 0.2 gallon tank. I used to have my betta in this, and he would just sit at the bottom and move occasionally. I have since moved him to a 5 gallon tank that i got from a friend, and he swims around all of the time, and i've trained him to swim through to the handle on his fish net, and jump it get his food off my finger. I would have never had enough room to train him in this tank.
I only recommend this tank for 1-3 african dwarf frogs or a single neon tetra, cardinal tetra, otocinclus, a few ghost shrimp, a single snail, or a rasbora heteromorpha danio or two.
Pros: sturdy
Cons: hard to clean

this is an awesome tank even though i have not used it yet because i have not gotten the Betta. I really cant wait with the nice good size and being so sturdy but i have had this before and it is the best tank there is for Betta fish
