I bought this pump after many comparisons and consideration of the different fish in my tanks. While breeding fish for a number of years with various size tanks, I have now found the ultimate air pump for bubbles, or just energizing the water in the tanks. The pump runs quite, comes in different sizes to fit most needs and my fish love the extra energy in the water.
I would highly recommend this pump as one of the best and it has proven to be a great performer as well as cost effective for the years to come.

it super duper quiet and all i had to do was attach the air line tubing to the air pump and the bubbler! it was so easy to install! i defiantly recommend this air pump!!

These air pumps are awesome. The design of the housing and large rubber feet allow this unit to function well and live up to its name. After years of being out of the hobby I was amazed at how truly quiet this pump is. I have 2 Whisper 10's running in my aquarium room and you can't hear them at all. My topfin on the other hand is destined for the garbage after I make my next trip to petsmart.

I bought the Tetra Whisper 40 after I tried the too noisy Top Fin air pump. I was a little dubious at first but all doubts have been dispelled during these first amazing weeks!!
The pump, besides being too quiet to hear, produces a nice steady stream of bubbles that aerates my aquarium's water very nicely. The fish have never shown any gasping/air deprivation signs and adore swimming through the bubbles! Plus, it looks beautiful in my aquarium.
It's worth the money...go out and buy it!

I bought this due to the name "whisper" assuming it would be very quite. However, my expectations may have been too high. The pump is quite noisy. Nevertheless, the pump works very well and gets the job done. I just wrapped the pump in a towel and placed it on the shelf and it is quite now.

It pumps air and it's fairly quiet. You can definitely hear it running, but it's not annoying and I expected it to be much noisier. For comparison, my Eheim ecco canister filter can barely be heard, and this is much louder than that, but no where near as loud as the Aqueon Quiet Flow the Eheim replaced. I'll put it inside a cabinet eventually and will probably be happy with it there.

This is a very loud pump. I had a Whisper 10 which was very quiet. I may try to go with two Whisper 20's to try to get the noise level down. This pump does put out the air.

This product is wonderful! It is so quiet, yet powerful. I love it and so do my fish. I bought the 40 gallon one for my 20 gallon tank because my goldfish started gasping for air. It did the trick. They just needed more air and it is so quiet I can still sleep with it running all night.

Excellent pump at a good price. I had read reviews before purchasing this and every one I saw was positive. I love Tetra brand anyway so the choice was easy. It had great power but the best thing is that it's sooooo quiet. I have this tank in my bedroom and have no problem with the sound when sleeping. Perfect!

I bought this air pump after reading reviews on how quiet it was. This is my first air pump and all I have to say is if there are louder pumps out there, then holy heck! This pump is quiet loud and causes incredible vibration. I had to remove it off my stand entirely as it just made the whole stand vibrate and cause all sorts of noise. I sat it on the floor which has reduced some of the noise, but it's still a very loud, constant hum. It definitely does it's job exactly as it's supposed to though, and for the price, I can live with the vibrations.

This is a great pump! It has two ports for air tubing so you can plug in multiple air stones, bars, wands, what have you. It is very very quiet!!! You cannot hear it over most HOB filters. I will defiantly buy again and recommend to anyone looking for an air pump.

I have had a Whisper Air Pump running almost continuously for over 5 years now on my 39 gallon tank. After all this years it is still as quiet as a mouse and running multiple air curtains plus a bubbling dragon. :) I plan on buying a bigger one for the 60 gallon tank I'm purchasing.

I bought this pump in late november. It is very noisy but i put it in a towel and in a closed cabinet. I have the 60 model with 2 outlets. The bubbles produced are amazing! It produces enough water agitation to have enough oxygen exchange for goldies. I also have sand in the tank and the airstones do not kick it up. I would recommend this pump as long as you have it on a towel or soft surface:)

Got very tired of the constant drone sound from the pump that came with my son's 30 gal tank. I bought the Whisper 40 with a diverter for 4 hoses. We placed it on a shelf under the aquarium powering one water wheel, a bubble wall and two bubble stones. We cannot hear the pump and it easily powers the four items in the tank. Highly recommend this product!

I have a 20G aquarium with 3 goldfish and a small pleco. I was using an old air pump that was at least 15 years old and it was VERY noisy! As this aquarium now sits in my bedroom I needed something quieter.
I originally purchased the whisper 20 because I was told anything less would not produced enough power for my 20G tank. However I was rather disappointed with the amount of noise the 20 made. I finally returned the 20 and decided to give the 10 a try hoping the smaller model would be quieter. The 10 had more than enough power producing ample amounts of bubbles and although still surprisingly noisy, was quiet enough when turned down that I can sleep with it running. I wrap it in a towel to add a little extra sound proofing.
I really like the adjustable valve for controlling the bubble stream. It’s easy to set up and easy to work!
Unfortunately air pumps are never totally quiet! Putting these pumps in an aquarium in a bedroom may take a few test runs and some fiddling but they are definitely great for a living room/ basement/ offices or anywhere else you could put a tank.

i own a 10 gallon air pump and it works perfectly. i have ever had a problem with it malfunctioning or breaking i am on my 6 or 7 month owning it and it works great
