Works great, February 14, 2009
by papabake from Channahon, IL

Pros: strong good construction
Cons: instructions so-so

"I bought this to contain our bigger dogs when we have certain company. I assembled it in our basement in about an hour and a half by my self. Could have went faster but why race through it? There was no tangling of the cyclone mesh and it went together pretty smooth. I used extra aluminum ties, there's plenty, to secure it better. I put a rubber pad and a dog bed in there-they love it!"

This is a great buy, August 5, 2008
by raisnick from Globe, AZ

"I found the photos in the instructions a little hard to figure out, but the common sense of the assembly once it is begun helps to make any assembly questiosn easy to answer on your own. Unrolling the fence was not trouble. There was not a kink or snag in the whole process.
I used the extra metal ties to secure the sunscreen rather than using the plastic ones. Easier to take a part and reuse. I had to DRAG the kennel about 20 feet to its final spot amongst bushes and trees and the assembly stayed tight without any give.
While this product receives free shipping there is no reason to consider any other. Quality material, easy assembly, low price!"

WE WANTED FOR IT'S TRUE PORTABLITY!, April 27, 2008
by RVTRAVELER from Gilbert, AZ

"We have been looking for something to carry for our 2 dogs, Lab and German Shepard, in our RV. We ordered the 6X6X4! No, the instructions are not great- set it up before hand and I relabel it for the next. But yes you can set it up in 30 minutes. yes you can fit this underneath in your RV if you have pass through storage. We are not going to leave the dogs in the kennel and drive away, but we can put them in there and have some privacy inside. 2 large dogs take up alot of space! The only thing that I'm going to go get separately is zip or velcro ties to attach the fence to the bottom brace so the can't crawl out and I can take apart each time!"

Pleasantly Surprised, April 26, 2008
by Oldiemom from Southwestern, PA

"I bought the smaller kennel for my Olde Engligh Bulldogge. It was very easy to put together and only took me about 35 min. I was not expecting it to be as easy to put together as it was. I also was not expecting as good quality for the price I paid, but it is very heavy and sturdy. I like the fact you can haul the smaller kennel in the back of a full size pick up truck, between the wheel wells. And it is easy to move around in the yard and will fit easily inside on the cold winter months. I must say I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by this purchase."

Very easy to assemble, July 30, 2007
by 2DogsILove from Midway City, CA

"After reading reviews on different kennels and how much difficulty a lot of people seem to have I was very leary but I ended up buying the 6'x6'x4' pen from Midwest since I've always like their products. I'm 4'10 and my friend is 5'10 and we put this thing together in about 45 minutes. I am not a handy person at all and I would rate him at just slightly above average. The key here is to *read* the directions. When we first laid the bottom pieces down we went by what was in the picture and not what was written. Well the picture is of the 4'x6'x4' pen (more rectangular) and I bought the 6'x'6'x4' pen (more square) and we were thrown off that the pieces didn't fit. So we decide just to go by the *written* instructions and we had no problems at all. The cage itself once put together is quite sturdy. The door is a bit sticky but that's not a big deal. I have mine laid out on concrete but if you laid it down on grass you could easily anchor it some more. I have a 8.5 lb rat terrier and a 11.5 lb Chiweenie and they are not getting out anytime soon. If you have a large dog that will try to tackle the cage down, he might be able to with some perseverence but the cage is pretty heavy. Although it's a bit of an overkill, I used extra heavy gauge (75lbs) zip ties to reinforce the bottom part of the chain every foot instead of the 2' suggested by the instuctionto to insure that my little ones don't try to squeeze their way out."

Very easy assembly, June 26, 2007
by GKimsey from Franklin, NC

"We put this kennel together in no time. Was very easy, I was impressed. We had purchased a kennel about a year ago for another location, by a different manufacturer, it was much harder to assemble. So was kind of expecting the same with this one. Directions were easy, few pieces, went together simple. Thanks and YES I would recommend this to future shoppers. If you need a small kennel you can beat this one; it even comes with sun screen included. A great bargin ! ! Thanks a bunch - Very pleased"

Quality of chain link is poor, May 24, 2007
by KimD from philadelphia pa

"I purchased the largest dog pen without a suntop, to house my 50lb baby lamb.
The directions were very easy to follow. The quality of the chain link was poor. It's soft and tangles easily. Our biggest problem was keeping the ends of the chain link hooked together. I added additional wire ties to the top on bottom for stability. The door hinges were different than the directions showed and they frequently need adjusting to keep the door on track and closing properly. I purchase most of my pet products form Pet Smart. I was surprised by the sub- standard quality of this product. In additon it takes hours not 30 minutes to set up. You need several tools to complete the 2 person project. It is nearly impossible for 1 person to assemble this kennel."

"i bought this product with high hopes. it took almost 4 hours to put up ( and i am quite handy) and by the end my hands were killing me from fighting with the fence and the fence ties. after all that work my dog got out of it anyway, in about 1 hour he was able to pull the actual fencing apart and easily escaped through a hole he had created.

very dissapointing needless to say!"

The best investment, March 20, 2007
by Atlantadoglover from Atlanta, GA

"My husband & I have 3 dogs ranging from 30lbs-65lbs & we bought the large size and set it up in our garage. They are in there for meals & when we're not home. They have beds & tons of toys in there so they like going in it. It has saved our house from chewing due to seperation anxiety & is a great to have when we have non-loving dog company. I have recommend this product to friends & can't imagine life without it! A +++++++"
