The Mac's Creatures & Critters Pet Refuge was bought for my corn snake terrarium- twice. The first time I bought the largest one and black mold grew on the under side and thats where my snake hid most of the time. The second time the mold grew under it again, but it was a small Mac's Creatures & Critters Pet Refuge. I mean, the outside was great, didn't mold or anything- but I bought it as a hide for my corn snakes and thought they'd be safe with it in there- but with black mold growing in it? I definitely would not recommend it =/

my hermit crabs loved sleeping under this, but after 5 days of having it mold started to grow so I had to take it out:( very sad

I bought this for my hamster, since I thought she would want some more natural textures than plastic and litter. She loves it and prefers it over any other hut or cubby.

I have this in my anole's terrarium, but only the crickets use it! It's so hard to clean, because the bark falls off and it takes FOREVER to dry after cleaning, because the crickets will sleep in it, and 'go' all over the inside. The only time my anoles will use it is when I put they're mealworms by it, so the used it as a perch, but then got back tho they're vines/leaves

I have three of these hides for my reptiles, I have to XL one for my beardie and the other for my ball python. I also have a medium hide for my baby ball python. They all love it! It's their little bedroom and basking spot in one. I also love to decorate their terrariums and this looks natural and very attractive. Easy to clean with antibacterial dish soap. Hardy, handy, and great looking.

This log hiding spot is great for reptiles. The only issue I have is that the bark comes off a bit, and my tortoise doesn't love it but uses it sometimes. He misses his old hiding spot.

I've had my extra-large pet refuge for about 2 years now, and it hasn't shed bark or deteriorated at all. It's kinda small for my adult water dragon (20" long), but she can still turn around and sleep in it, which is good. Also, even though a little bit of green would make it look more natural, the bark is very attractive and helps reptiles shed by providing a rough surface to rub against (also keeps nails healthy). However, if you keep it too moist (mist it directly or keep the dirt underneath too wet), it can grow mold, so be careful. I was able to rinse and scrub off the small amount that grew on mine, but the sooner you notice the mold, the sooner you can eliminate it. Apart from that, my water dragon likes basking on top of it, and it looks good in a tropical setup where a rock cave might not. All-in-all, a great product!

I first got this for my corn snakes (medium size) and after they out grew it I got large and it is still wonderful. I used the medium for my tarantula and now have one for my hamster and it is perfect for all animals. My hamster loves to chew on it and it keeps her warm since she is outside, my snakes love to hide under it (two corns and one boa) and I feel these are great quality for any pet lover, no mater what the pet. The first one I purchased is still being used after seven years, so it lasts a LONG time!

I had found and rescued a snake that had been struck in the head with a shovel, and in the cage i got her this. She enjoyed it, and was in it most of the time. Good for the time being that i had her :)
Good quality, and cheap. Buy this! This is good for all reptiles, because my friend has one for his lizard and one for his beardy :)

I have two of these (the medium and the smallest size) for my salamander and red efts. They both LOVE them. They climb all over them, hide under them all the time because it makes them feel safe and it's cool under the log. These look great in any tank and are obviously natural looking! Highly recommended for any amphibians.

I love the log hide out because It looks very natural and offers shade to my pets when they get tired of basking. I have 2 at the moment, one in large and one in small, and the large one has lasted 2 years so far and there is no damage to it at all! My russian tortoise has the large and my baby leo has the small (previously used for my beardie) and they both love It! I am actually going to buy the extra large for my Beardie since he is being moved into a custom 180 gallon breeder:)

I love these hides, I use this hide on my Leopard Gecko he goes in there to cool of and sleep. Easy to clean and wipe off any debris and wonderful decor for the tank.

My sulcatta Athena loves this. Most of her day is spent in it. She has the extra large. It flakes a little and gives me an occasional sliver but thats okay! Love it!

I bought this critter refuge for my hermit crabs, because they needed some place to hide. I love it! My hermits are always in there, and when they feel adventurous, they will attempt to climb it! There's only 2 problems. It makes a HUGE mess. Every time I pick it up, it pretty much sheds its bark. Plus its look is not very good. The bark stands off of the actual wood. Other than the cons, great item!

there ok sometimes you need really big ones so if you get a leo get a big one even when hes a baby learned that the hard way he couldn't get in it was to tight even when hes a baby he couldn't get in

I have two rats and a dwarf hamster who love their little shelters. I'm happy because they love chewing on them and they don't smell bad if they get soiled like the hay huts did. I recommend this to anyone who has avid chewers.
