How big are your mice?, April 22, 2009
by catmouse from North Carolina

"I was so excited when I got this home! Coming out of the box it was great. Easy to assemble and eventually more sturdy than I thought. But as soon as I put the first mouse in, I instantly had a mouse climbing through the bars and running across the room. So beware, make sure your mice aren't too small! Otherwise, an excellent choice for the price with quite a good amount of food and bedding. I wish it had worked out."

great starter kit for mice lovers!!!!, November 23, 2008
by iluviceskating from Queen Creek, AZ

"I just turned 12 and got mice for my birthday. My mom told me I should get this cage because it comes with food, food dish, ball point water bottle, wheel, fun tube, second story and bedding. Great for starters!!! I'm getting a little tired at how small it is. But it's better for just one mouse. The wheel is to loud but I found a solution. When you clean the cage take the back part out and put oil on it. It takes care of it for a few days. If you are thinking about getting a mouse, get this cage!"

Impressed!, July 26, 2008
by Beckaze from Columbus, OH

"I have tried just about every cage type for my fancy mice - aquariums, plastic critter trail cages, other wire cages.. and all had faults that made them difficult to work with in some way or another.
I wasn't hopeful about this cage, but since my aquarium was finally so stinky after so long, I needed to replace it and this was the almost the only cage I hadn't yet tried.
I was very impressed! It's EASY to put together, very sturdy, and has a VERY deep base so that even my extremely finicky girls aren't throwing bedding out every time one of them goes potty. The wheel is noisy - but I was expecting this - most wheels that hook onto wire cages are going to be noisy. It was easily replaced with the small size of the Silent Spinner, with lots of space to spare. I have 3 small sized fancy mice in here, and they are very content.
This cage is much bigger than it looks - and it includes enough bedding and food to last you a good month, depending on how often you clean the cage / how much your mice eat.
Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed!"

Easily Escapeable, July 5, 2008
by FishAreFriends from Atlanta, GA

"I bought this thinking it was a nice, simple and non-flashy alternative for my first two mice. It came with all the necessary things and was not a neon rainbow color that I (as a college student) wanted to have in my room. Well after about a day, I had my first problem: the wheel. Though it claims to be silent there is no ball bearing (just plastic on plastic) there is nothing silent about it. So I went out to purchase another wheel. About a week when by and it was cleaning time. I found that the top was not really the problem, but the little landing was almost impossible to remove and put on without bending the cage bars. And finally, one more week after ignoring these frustrations I came to find that my mice had in fact, with no real problem escaped in a matter of seconds. After fixing what i thought to be the problem (the top door) I left them reluctantly in their home, as I could not afford to buy a new cage. Low and behold they escaped again through the other door, which was in perfect condition!! I am totally dissatisfied with this product and would not reccomend it to any parent wanting to give it to their child. I myself (a 21 yr old College Student) struggle enough with the cages cheap and poor design.
Bottom Line: The cage is poorly constructed and your mice will have no problem finding an escape root. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!"

by lexi1999 from Maryland

"I love this cage and my "hamster" likes it too. This cage is really easy to clean. All you have to do is lift up the flaps and pull the top off. I really hope anyone with a hamster or a mouse should get this caggot this cage."

Great buy!, February 12, 2008
by 7petstoomany from Benton, AR

"My 10 year old daughter had been wanting mice for a while. She had enough Christmas/birthday money to buy all the items herself and we finally gave in. After reading reviews we decided on this cage. For the price, she got a wonderful bargain. She had everything she needed to start out. The cage was easy to set up and is relatively easy for her to clean. She had food and a small amount of litter. We did have to go buy a second water bottle since the one that came with the cage leaked and made the litter sopping wet.
She got juvenile mice and they did manage to get out once (luckily we found both after a major search with the help of one cat!) but we've been securing the doors and all seems fine."

Excelllent Cage, October 21, 2007
by mspangler from Virgina

"Excellent product. We house 2 dwarf hamsters in this cage and there is plenty of room - enough to add 2 small Igloos in it as well. I do not recommend it for any rodents larger than mice or dwarf hamsters, however, due to its size. In addition, dwarf hamsters can be escape artists, but we have had no problems with them getting out.

It is very easy to clean and put back together again and the quality is excellent. The only complaint (and it is a minor one) is that we found the wheel to be a little noisy.

We have had several cages for regular sized and dwarf hamsters, and this one by far was the best for quality and price. Other plastic cages were flimsy and broke easily, and a pain in the neck to clean and put back together again.

As far as rodent cages go, the simpler the better. We found the ones with all the fancy "stuff" to be of poor quality and a waste of money. In addition, the ventilation was poor which can result in illness for the pet. I recommend wire cages such as these for the overall health of the pet and ease of use.

Great product!"

Great for Mice, September 24, 2007
by Immortalbeloved0 from Shreveport,La

"I own two pet mice, one of them(Mischa) lives in one of those 'fancey' all plastic enclosed cages with the wheel on the side and a tube tower. Both the wheel and the tower if barely nudged will tumble away! So I bought this recently for my second pet mouse(Hannibal) and its a lot better then the plastic ones, which end to harbor nasty smells and such.

This new cage has great ventilation(clearly) and was quite easy to assemble and took barely 10 minutes to put up. Someone had mentioned that the two doors(other colored then the rest of the cage) had small spaces between the bars and the rest of the cage. I bought a green version and have no problem with that at all. The food and bedding was a great plus! The brand of food is quite good and I use it often, however it is SEEDS not the 'cubes' so you may only give it to them as a snack.

The wheel is very quiet, and has plenty of room for my mouse on his own. My mice are not the kind of escape artist pets so I have no issue with that. This is a very good buy and wish I'd gotten it instead of that 'fancy' plastic one.

Just a bit of advice I've learned having pet mice(and for any other little critter) that the less is best, the less little decorations on a cage the better it is to have. The more little tubes, bubbles, wheels and such that are on it the harder it is to clean, easier for them to escape and generally create an annoyance with it. Go for the simple cages, don't be fooled by colors and little add on's!"

Great Cage for Dwarf Hamsters!, September 1, 2007
by Pr3ttyNP1nk from Thunder Bay Ontario

"Like all the other reviews I love this cage for my dwarf hamster! It's the perfect size and really easy to take apart and clean unlike a lot of Habitrail/Crittertrail cages which break easily and are a pain to clean. My dwarf loves the perfectly sized wheel and I like how the food dish has a special bump it sits on so it doesn't get knocked over. I found when I first put it together the sides did need a little tightening with a pair of pliers just to keep it from slipping out but that was a minor issue. I know some other reviews noted the holes where the doors close, the first cage I bought had extra metal clips that closed those over while the second one I bought for my other dwarf had an additional bar placed in the same spot. 5/5 stars from me! Great product, great price!"

great little home, July 27, 2007
by deetalai from Tucson, AZ

"this is an awesome cage! it is really good for those who are getting mice for the first time. I bought this cage for the two mice that i got for my sister and me. There's plenty of room for both of the mice, the wheel and second level are great for them as well. The fact that it came with food and bedding as well is a great plus. it's a great little home for mice."

It was good., June 13, 2007
by Hoshi from V-town, Texas

"This is my second cage, and my mice really enjoy it. I like it, its easy to clean, lots of space, etc. but the holes are horrible. I mean, my mice can slip in and out of them and we now have a mouse running around in my house."

great cage!!! (exept one little problem...), April 10, 2007
by trixi from California, CA

"I really like this cage and it seems that my new mice do too!! One of my mice really likes the ledge. It is very roomy for two mice to run about in it. At first I was scared the wheel would be too noisey, but it turned out to be very quiet. The only down side to this cage is on both of the doors there are two holes where it hooks in that they can escape through, so we had to put wire across both of the holes so they didn't escape. Besides that it is a very good cage, I just think they should fix that since it is a mouse cage so it should be designed for mice."
