I use this for my California King Snake, and he just loves to burrow in it. When he wants to warm up, he goes in his little home and burrows, and when he wants to cool down, he burrows under his water dish. It's rough enough to help him shed, but soft enough to be comfortable to him. It's easy to clean, and there is no smell.

I had found and rescued a snake that had seemed to be hit in the back of the head with a shovel, so i took her in, and i filled the bottom the the terrarium with this stuff. It is soft, and seems comfortable for a half-paralyzed snake (she could move but very slow) its good quality, and i will continue to use this until she recovers :)

I use Zoo Med Aspen Snake Bedding instead of sand for my sand boa because it allows my pet to make a web of tunnels.

The petstore I bought my ball python used millet seeds as bedding for the BP's, When I got her home, I noticed one side of her face looked odd, she had 4 seeds stuck in her lip and it caused her lip to bleed a little. I have only been using this Aspen since I first got her last Friday, It DOES have a smell, but it's a very very nice smell, she's poo'ed once on the bedding and it was easy to clean out, I just got a spoon and scooped the litter and everything up there, then smoothed it back down, easy as pie. It's also soft and cushiony. She likes to lie on it at night, looking out, flicking her tongue.

Pros: smells good, soft and comfortable, easy to use

Cons: not a lot in each small bag

Great product! I use it for all my snakes: columbian boa, corn snakes & ball python. It makes cleanup super easy & never had any problems with ingestion or foul odor.

I use this for baby and adult cornsnakes as well as a ball python. the cornsnakes do really well with this bedding. they have created tunnels within the aspen to hide in and keep warm. it's great for spot cleaning as the droppings are very visible against the aspen as well as clump up which makes it easily removable. absolutely NO DUST either!
