"i have this uvb bulb with my red eared slider and it is absolutely necesary for him so he can absorb his own vitamin d3 and calcium. He has a healthy shell, and he likes to bask under it because i put it where the heat light is, so when he's basking he gets some uvb too. This is definatly the most widely used uvb bulb, and it is purfect for all reptiles, not onlty turtles and tortoises, but also iguanas, bearded dragons, and lizards."
