Average heat bulb used in most of my terrariums. Works well, definatly do not drop, even little spill can break and kill the bulb. Great price.

Burns out quickly!

I've bought a half-dozen of these things and they *NEVER* last longer than a couple of weeks. Considering the cost and the fact that a general purpose bulb lasts 6+ months and costs 10% as much, it's just not worth it.

the fisrt time i got this it lasted a month. and then we got another one that lasted 2 weeks. its not worth the price. yes you get good heat but thats it, you dont get anything els requierd for reptiles. we stoped using the light altogether and the night bulb because they burnt out so fast.

This bulb does not work at all. I have had 3 in the last 2 weeks and they keep burning out. + it makes your hole house feel like its in a huge heat wave!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this bulb for 12$ and found that it lasted for only about a week, which isn't very much considering the cost. I've had bulbs for 7$ that last 4 months! It provided heat well enough to provide temperatures ranging between 80 and 100 degrees. I won't buy this product again. Not impressed at all.

Its one of the best basking bulbs you can get. it last about 3800 hours when i got it. i use this for my leopard geckos.

This is a good product if you have money to go out and buy a new one every 4 weeks. Be sure that you are ready at all times because this lamp will work one day then the next it will blow out.

My mom keeps my house pretty cool, and this is the only bulb that can my beardie's basking spot up to the temperatures he needs in the winter. Even the 150 watt of different brands will not cut it. The reflector must be doing something right. I hate spending so much on one light bulb that only lasts a couple months, but no other light bulb gets the job done like these do.

Cheap, but useless

Okay, heres the deal. The bulb doesn't get hot... No, let me correct that statement... It doesn't get warm. It raises my Leo's 30g tank about 1degree F. I can touch it when it's on and not get burnt.

The UV rays it puts out are not nearly enough to get rid of the required Repti-Sun, so don't buy it strictly for that.

It's pretty bright, but not really. Kind of dull, but bright at the same time. It gives off a yellow ray.

I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Cons: gives off a yellow ray, doesn't even get warm at all, not enough uv to replace repti-sun

I have a ranken dragon (not to be confused with a bearded dragon) and I have used this for him for years. It lasts about 6 months. My lizard loves it. It does it's job well. It is overall one of the best bulbs you can have! Great Job Zoo Med!

Pros: lasts a while, provides great heat for a desert lizard, is not too bright like most other lamps, great job zoo med!

Cons: needs a large lamp

We have tried these bulbs several times and have had them blow out with in a week of pruchase every time. We have 4 Bearded dragons so light a temp. are critical to their health. Therefore it looks like we will be finding a different product. I would suggest you do too....

This is a really good heat source for your reptile!
I only have one problem with this bulb. After you have it for a while you start to notice that it builds up a lot of algae. but other than that it heats up great and very durable!!

Quality bulb, emits a good amount of heat

We use these bulbs for our lizards, Pink Bellied Swifts (desert-dwelling), and it emits a decent amount of heat, it easily raises the temp of our 10 gallon aquarium about 10 degrees. It keeps their basking rock warm enough for their liking. I wouldn't recommend using it as a primary heat source though, you will need an UTH or a ceramic for primary heat. This bulb is designed for spot heating on a basking rock/perch, and it performs this task very well.

I bought this product today and it has been working as it says it does. I usually keep my house around 72 degrees F. This basking light heats my 10 Gallon tank up to 85 degrees F. which is a pretty good rise in temp. Decent and somewhat cheap. If you need a light, this one would be fine.

We use these bulbs for our iguana, and they last for around 9-12 months
(at 9 hours a day). If you are having trouble with bulbs that
constantly burn out, a few tips:
!. Check the wattage restrictions on the lamp itself. If the wattage of
the bulb exceeds the wattage max of the lamp, the bulbs will burn out
VERY quickly.
2. Do not touch the bulb with your fingers. The oils on your skin
decrease the life of the bulb. (There is some scientific reason for
this, but don't ask me to explain.) Wear cotton or latex gloves when
inserting a new bulb, and it will increase the life of the bulb by 2-3
months.
Also know that most reptiles require UVB light to synthesize vitamin D.
This basking/heat bulb does not provide UVB (oly UVA). You will need an
additional UVB bulb. (I use a ZooMed 5.0.)

this is a nice Bulb for the most part. However, they do not seem to last very long at all. We have two tanks, between the two of them it seems they blow a bulb about every 1 1/2 to 2 mos max. Need more reliablity for this price.
