If I could give this a zero, I would. I had to exchange this bulb twice before I actually got one that worked. Then, when I got one that worked, it went out in a few days. I finally switched brands. Don't waste your time or money.

Not Long Lasting

Bought this bulb for my ball python and it went out the very next day! Luckily i took the bulb back and they returned my money. If your going to buy a heating bulb i would recommend Zoo Med™ Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamp.

Broke after 10 days!

This light bulb stopped working after 10 days. The package says it should last about 3000 hours. I used this bulb as a nighttime heat source for my 2 box turtles. It is on for 12 hours every night. I have had previous bulbs last at least 2 months. Very disappointing.

i got the basic desert kit for my panther gecko but the night bulb broke so when my mom and dad went christmas shopping when they went to petsmart they got a new one and it has been much better then the other night bulb i had it has more heat i got a 60 watts for the new one the old one was 50 watts but it only seemed liked 30 or 40 and it didn't really keep him warm and before i got the new one i had to keep the day light on and it was really bright so it was hard to go to sleep but this bulb i with it i was sleeping like a baby it so i would recommend it

Great Price and Product is a Beardie MUST

I use this light on my baby beardies to keep them toasty at night. Doesn't get too hot but keeps them warm while they sleep. Price is unbeatable.
Bulb is frail and dies easily.

It worked for 2 weeks and then blew out. I haven't ever had a problem with zoo med bulbs, but the zoo med red bulb is a piece of junk. I do not recommend this product.

Bulb blew out with in a month or even less and i only ran it about 2 hours a day... only increase ambiant temp by about 2 degrees in a 20gal long tank... poor heat output and aweful life span. I will never buy this bulb again.

Pros: provides night viewing

Cons: horrible heating, last about a month

I have the 40W bulb, and it works wonderfully as a secondary heat source for my Pacman frog. What I like most is that I can use this light at night to view my frog, as Pacmans cannot see the red light spectrum, and they are nocturnal. This bulb doesn't provide an excessive amount of heat, but an amount that is just a few degrees over room temperature.

Pros: allows nighttime viewing of nocturnal pets, gives off enough heat for chilly nights

Great Nighttime Bulb

I have had it for 3 months now, using it about 12 hours a night so I am just over 1000 hours. I hope it will last me another 6 months (2K more hours).

For $9 bucks it has been $3/month right now, and hopefully $1/month if it goes 3k hours.

My only complaint is that it is 60w bulb and my wife and I have the rest of our home using 15w bulbs so this is a power sucker compared to our other light bulbs.

My turtles love it. Seems to keep them happy at night.
