i ended up getting 2 canopies since i had 2 different 40 gal. terrariums over a year ago. it doesn't take up a whole lot of room and shines just the right amount of light needed. i haven't had a problem with it at all. love it. it definitely serves it purpose!

I use this canopy for my Veiled Chameleon set up. It uses 26 watt CFLs and also incandescent bulbs, so i have my cham's heat and UVB all in one unit which makes for a very clean and stylish look. In one word, EXCELLENT!!!!!! About to buy a couple more of these for my Bearded Dragon set up.

Since UV lighting is important for many reptiles & amphibians, these fixtures are a great way to add it to most types of tanks. The smallest fits a 10 gallon standard tank along with the small ExoTerra tank very well and provides a nice light with a broad spectrum bulb. The largest fits three bulbs, so you can mix lighting types (e.g., a broad spectrum with a desert or tropical UV light). You can use two bulbs instead of one if that works better with the tank. It fits larger standard tanks as well as the bigger ExoTerra tanks. I have a bearded dragon in one tank, and she sits directly under the UV bulbs almost as much as she sits under her basking light.

The canopies look much better and are easier to use than standard dome lights, which need to be elevated for the longer UV bulbs. UV lighting can really show off your terrarium and its inhabitants, and these canopies are a practical and attractive choice for most reptile or amphibian enclosures.

This is the best lighting fixture I have used.
It's energy efficient & unobtrusive. The bulbs
are very long-lasting and give out both UVA
UVB light- hard to find! I highly recommend this
product, the bulbs that go with it, as well as the
ExoTerra habitats this fixture is primarily designed
for (though this fixture works with most all terrariums
I've seen!).
