These pads work very well for cleaning up cloudy water. One of the notorius things with cichlids, especially oscars, is that they are messy eaters and sometimes they shred food that is hard to syphon out. If the water ever gets cloudy, these pads clear it right up. I highly recommend them if you want crystal water.
