Well, The title should say it. The canister is made very cheaply. I felt like I was going to break it putting it together. But, I was optimistic... Especially, It was on sale. . . I took it home, Cleaned everything, Than installed it onto my reef tank. My first problem besides the cheap quality, was when I started to try and Prime the filter. Immediately after the filter began to actually fill with water(which took for ever) it started to leak water out of the priming button every time I push it. So, Than keeping up with my optimism. I kept moving along. I plugged the filter in. It flowed greatly and was pretty quiet. But that I unplugged it for a moment to adjust some things and began to hear water. . . Which as we all know isn't a good thing. Come to find out it was leaking like crazy from the motor gasket. No matter what I did it just keep leaking! I traded it out for a Fluval 306. It is so much nicer!!! Extremely quiet and easy to mess with. Also, The Fluval isn't as cheaply put together.

I bought the C360 model, works awesome , been up and running for a month now, very quiet , powerful, easy to clean , the fine replacemant pads are available at ur Pet Smart stores , just have to change the fine white cleaning pad every month, the Carbon charcol, I am going to buy extra , and recharge the media bags of ammo carb i replaced , you are getting a great filter for your money.

I've owned my 125 gallon aquarium for a few years now. While having this aquarium I've used 2 Marine-land magnum 350 canister filter. This was a fantastic filter but also had a few draw backs. But after my last one broke i finally decided to give the C-360 canister a go and i could not be happier! maintenance is a breeze, easy to start up, and my water couldn't be clearer. I own several turtles and given how dirty they can make a tank,I've just purchased my 2nd one and am excited to have both installed!

Love the Marineland 360's. I have 1, one for my 30gal salt tank and 90gal fresh tank. First purchased a fluval for the salt tank and had nothing but problems with it, got a marineland for the fresh tank and loved it so much I got rid of the fluval asap to replace it for a marineland. Its much quieter running, has a better internal set-up to actually force the water through all the media, has a handle so it can easily be carried from room to room for cleaning, extra clasps to hold the top down also help remove it for cleaning so youre not reefing on it or using a pry-bar to get it apart. Wasn't happy with the carbon it came with, checked on the filter pad in a week after install and it was black from the carbon, so those just got tossed and replaced with another brand of carbon but thats nothing to do with the preformance of the filter. Love it love it love it!

I have had a lot of fish tanks in the past so i have tried every filter out their and this one is the best i have ever used I have 2 55gal tanks and a 10gal. my tanks stay crystal clear with this filter. I love it, dont have to use any kind of cemacials.

I like this filter. I have a 90 gal. tank and I did have two power filters on it. I thought that was good enough until I did my water changes and two weeks later I was doing it again. Well I bought the C-360 after looking online at filters and this one works perfect

This product is awsome. I switched from the external power filter because I couldn't stand the vibration/humming noise it produced. I bought the c220 model for my 46 gallon. Assembled it which a monkey can d,o and started right up. I left the old filter run with the new one running as well to get it established without ammo spikes for 2 weeks and removed the old one after that time. Have had to clean it, which is fairly simple. One suggestion is once you remove the motor head from the unit, have it hang over a bucket to catch water that leaks from it while you are cleaning the unit or you will have water all over your floor. another thing I should have done was bought the largest model that cleans larger tanks as I like to keep a very stocked tank, and I believe the largest model would have done a better more long term job of keeping tank clean and balanced, and I wouldn't have to clean filter as often. The down side to buying this at petsmart is they don't carry the foam inserts or polishing pads when replacement is needed. If you want these items you will have to buy them online and pay shipping costs, or find a lfs that carries marinland canister filters and hope they carry the inserts.

I've had two of the Marineland C-220's for 3 years now and they work like a charm. They keep my water crystal clear! Yes, sometimes when i open one of them and forget to relube the main o'ring it will leak a tiny bit, but if i re-open it and let it dry a little and add some o'ring lube to it lightly it stops the leak. You just have to make sure they stay lubed. Its not only with marineland canisters, its with all canisters. O'rings are ment to stay lubed to keep the seal. And its a good idea to make it a habit of checking on your canister anyway, its not something you just set it and forget it lol. I recommend getting a small kitty litter pan and sitting the canister in the kitty litter pan. Most canisters are housed in cabinets anyway no one can see the litter pan. That way if the canister ever does leak a little, it has no where to go. These canisters are a great investment, I recommend them!

I had this filter for just over a year and then it began to leak. It leaked at a slow rate and siphoned the water out of my tank onto the floor. It leaks from the bottom of the powerhead. Changing the o ring does not correct the problem. It is as though the powerhead is not molded correctly to the outer body. upon doing searches online, I found many other people have this problem and Marineland will not do anything to correct the issues people have had. On top of the poor customer service, they do not even offer a replacement part number for the o ring (not that it corrected the problem anyway but is probably a common replacement part since the canister is opened often). I had a gasket supplier find an exact replacement for me. Anyway, I suggest that people do not purchase this filter as the small leak which seems to inevitably happen can cause quite a bit of damage to a house

This is the easiest to set up and use I have ever had. They send a wonderful instructional DVD with it to show exactly how to set up the system. The customer service is excellent for any problems or questions that may come up if you are nervous about the set up. They are so great in the quality of materials used in the construction of the whole product. It performs beautifully and makes my tank pristine in cleanliness. It is easy as pie to clean and maintain and I adore this filter!!!

I purchased a C-360 online. Ran for about two weeks. Next thing I know my shelf under my tank, in the stand, is soaked. Not only is it soaked, but the floor directly out front of the doors is soaked. Why? The 360 leaks, YES LEAKS!!!!! Do your research unlike I did. Type in Marineland 360 leaks and see what happens in a search engine. Numerous others have had the same problem, they seriously leak right out the side and front of the top of the canister handles, the actual locks you're supposed to push down to lock the top on. Buy something else!!!!! I've had other Marineland systems and NONE worked properly. I personally am now getting a Rena. My Fluval's... (2), have worked fine for two years, NOT A GLITCH. Do not buy a Marineland please!

The Marineland C-360 is a great filter. I have it on my 46 gallon bowfront cichlid tank and the water is crystal clear. This Filter comes with a dvd that shows you how to install and how to clean your filter. It also comes with all the filter media that you will need. I don't use the carbon though because after 3 weeks it becomes inactive. So instead I just use the extra filter basket for more bio balls. Has been up and running now for 6 months with no problems at all.

This filtration system is the best investment I have made in the three years I have had my 25 gallon tank. I had a cheap Top Fin 40 before this and it worked fine for the first year. My fish started growing and my water turned the color of skim milk and was almost pure amonia (my test water turned black). I used every chemical I could think of to clear it up, and changed the filter pad every week. Nothing would clean it so I finally bit the bullet and bought this system. In 3 days my water was crystal clear and chemically balanced like it was when I first set it up 3 years ago. I have had this system for about 2 weeks now and It has been amazing. Buy it if your tank is what you consider beyond fixing. That is where I was.

I have used Marineland's Eclipse 2 System and Emperor 400, both of them broke down unexpectedly due to different reasons. I was ready to get a new filtration system since I did not really like the clumsy design of Emperor 400, and thus makes it quite noisy too. I got a Magnum Canister and it did the job but setting it up was tedious and painful. It took me a while for me to get it start working...Not to mention taking it apart for cleaning. Then I found out the newly designed canister filtration made by Marineland. It is a breeze (also fun) to assemble and best of all, it comes with the bio filter balls (similar to bio-wheel's function) that keeps the maintenance care free. It is "very very" quiet and has a high tech (modulized) and modern look. Sometimes I almost forgot that it is a fish tank filter... This is by far the best filtration system I have ever purchased!

This filter is the best filter I've ever had! Within a day of setting it up, my water was crystal clear and the fish seemed really happy. The aquarium looked incredible and it was so clean I couldn't even believe it. Also, it was ultra quiet, which is a plus because it is in my bedroom. The only downside to it was that it didn't come with an instruction manual so I had to go to the website to set it up. Other than that, this is the best filter on the market, and I would recommend it to ANYONE who desires nothing less than a perfectly clean aquarium!

This filter is awesome! After my magnum filter died out I couldn't help but get this new filter by marineland! It is very well built and it will last. It has 4 baskets that have all different type of media in them such as your classic carbon to ceramic rings. just like it says, there is no bypass, the only thing I dislike is the cheap suction cups to hold the intake and the out take in the tank. But it works. All in all, this filter will leave your tank sparkling clean!!!!!
