Depending on the brand tank you have. the one we happened to buy came with PLASTIC TOP. Which with having a Uromastyx that needed a 120 degree basking spot would have melted and warped and potentially caught fire... So we bought this... Works awesome.. great quality, the folding hinge feature makes it way more convenient and easier... Top doesnt fit exact to our tank but it still seals the top good but the uro cant climb up the glass and push out of it either.
Pros: sturdy

This screen is great! I don't have to take off all the lighting just to remove the screen in order to feed my turtles. It's so much simpler with the center hinge.
However, if you have large reptiles, like snakes and turtles, who escape easily, I would recommend buying some screen clips as well. It's also much easier for pets to escape with the center hinge because it's not as heavy as a screen without it. Other than that hiccup, it's pretty much perfect.

This screen is awesome! It makes it so much easier for me to get into my lizard's cage. Now I can feed him without moving all the lighting and stuff from on top of the cage. Unfortunately it is a little lighter and less sturdy than the top I had without the hinge but some heavy duty clips should take care of that if you have a snake.
Pros: easy access, great fit
Cons: little flimsy

these are nice and allow easy access BUT you will need very stout clips to hold these down when you use with snakes. I'm talking the clips that are about 2 inches wide, and not the little 3/4 inch wide zilla clips. You will be looking for your snake if you use those.
