Sand or sanded perches are awful on a bird's feet. It dries them out and often leads to foot problems. It's best just to trim your bird's nails.

I would use this because it would attract bacteria and the sand removes easily.
Cons: harbours bacteria

These perch covers helped somewhat with my birds nails, and they liked to sit on the perches with these on them overall a nice product, but not a must-have.

I wouldn't reccomend them because: a) After a few months of use, the sand covering wears off b) They do not have any self-adhesive so they somtimes slip.

This is a GREAT product to help keep your birds nails trimed and not have to spend a lot of money like you would have to to take him/her to the vet if you don't cut his/her nails youself.
