"I use this on my Golden retriever and my cat. Both of my pets are indoor/outdoor animals so I want to be able to decrease the amount of hair in the house. I use this on my dog every week or two and on my cat once to twice weekly. It is amazing how much loose hair this will brush from the coat! My pets always look glossy and shiny since purchasing the Furminator and they love the special attention I give them while reducing sheeding at the same time. This is the most expensive grooming tool I've ever purchased but it is WORTH IT!"

"I have 2 golden retrievers, a lab mix and 2 cats. This is the first grooming tool that gets the job done. My animals love to be combed with the FURminator. It really removes the undercoat and the loose hair.
Anyone who has an animal that sheds should own one. In other words, everyone should buy this!!"

"best product of my life. we got a senior newf last spring just as he was beginning to lose his undercoat. i'd used rakes and other tools on our bouvier, but this was so much faster and easier. best investment ever. my friend is a dog groomer and she was super excited when she saw it at our house. love it."

Pros: highly effective, takes out undercoat in chunks, don't have to brush vigorously for it to work Cons: blade is sharp - don't furminate excessively!
"The FURminator is, hands down, the best de-shedding brush i have ever used. one stroke of the brush across your dog's back and you'll be amazed at the amount of hair that comes out. it really gets down to the undercoat. after brushing out my dog with the FURminator there was literally an enormous pile of hair. i would recommend this product to everybody. you really do have to try it to believe it, and yes - it does work EXACTLY like they show in the pictures"

"Anyone, with any pet that sheds MUST get this. Quite frankly, buy it even if you think that your pet isn't shedding all that much. Your have know idea how much underfur our pets are dealing with. I purchased this after reading all the positive reviews here. Yes, it is a tad bit expensive. I had to buy the the big one because I have a hugh yellow lab that used to look like the Peanuts cartoon Pigpen. (Ya know, the clouds of dust) It wasn't dirt, it was fur. It absolutely flew! When I got it home and used it I was so amazed. I took off a ton.. It also helped that he really loved the tool and continues to want to be groomed. The fur factor in my home has decreased so much. The other side of the tale is the fact that I took it to work to show it to a co-worker for her dogs. My demo ended up using it on our office cat Nova, (Are we lucky or what!!!) She loved it. Everyone in the office took a turn at trying out the groomer on the girl. Nobody could belive how much fur we got off of her! So, everyone choked at how much I payed, but when they saw the quality and the performance they are thinking about it. trust me, buy it."

"I broke down & bought it for my GSD/Heeler mix. Plus I saw it had a 30-day $ back so what's to lose except time if it didn't work.
So here I was thinking my dog was getting fat/wide with age, it turns out that I wasn't getting all her undercoat using a regular brush! After using it on my dog, she was instantly slimmer (I know sounds like a weight loss ad...LOL!) but seriously I felt so bad for my dog after realizing she was walking around with all that undercoat specially w/ the summer heat. Like another poster, my dog does not stay still for brushings, so I've done 20mins a day and have gotten a plastic grocery bag every time.
IMHO the videos show the tool being used very aggressively and w/ such sharp teeth I'd suggest being a bit less rough. Light to a tiny bit of pressure on the strokes and you still get clumps of hair."

"Like some of the other reviewers here, I had my doubts about this product at first. My curiousity got the better of me and I finally decided to buy one. I can't rave enough about the FURminator. We combed out the equivalent of a small dog out of our Lab's coat! Absolutely amazing! The dog loved being combed, in fact, she just about fell asleep. We were SO impressed, we bought a FURminator for the cat as well.
Yes, it's pricey, but this has been the only tool that has been effective in deshedding our wonderful pets. Highly recommended!"

"We have a solid white German Shepherd who is constantly shedding. We got our FURminator yesterday & used it on our dog. I was amazed with the amount of undercoat & loose fur it took off. When we were done there was enough hair in the trash for a whole new dog!!! Our dog loves it & it made him look extra shiny & silky!"

"I have spent alot of money looking for something that would help with my dogs shedding ( a boston terr mix, and a pug mix). This tool works great. i just got it yesterday, rushed home and tried it. "I recommend this product. HOWEVER, the video shows a really agressive technique that the packaging actually warns against using and I agree with the package. I alternated between the slick brush and the furminator to get my cats accustomed to the feel of it. If the coat has matted bits it will PULL and that will cause your animal to not like it. After we got the first brushing out of the way, they liked it but I used it gently. IT STILL WORKS WHEN YOU USE IT GENTLY. If you use it it will work. If you like your animals-ignore the "geared for dramatic results" video and use it gently like a normal brush. Otherwise you will have a battle on your hands."

"I just bought this even though it is a bit pricey. It took so much hair off of my Dalmationn and my Lab/Aussie-Shep mix. I've never seen them love a brushing so much. I entend on using it once a week in the beggining in hopes that it will taper down to once a month. Great product, my dogs love it. If I where ratinng the product only I would give it 5 stars, since I'm rating overall, I gave it 4 satrs becsue of price."

"Found the product online and thought it would be good for my golden retriever. I got a whole brown trash sack of hair off him. Used it on my puggle and also got a small brown sack of hair. Bought the desheding spray a few months back. So worth it. Not only are they shedding less but there coats look healthier and shiney. Does work of labs too. Have recommended this product to so many family members and friends and they all agree. This will be the only and last brush I ever get. Works great!!!!!!!!!!"

"I was interested in this product and heard nothing but good things. I went to the store and bought the bathing essentials kit for the same price as just the brush. The shampoo smells pretty good but I'm not sure its much different that any other shampoo. The conditioner type product that also comes with it I didn't use. It says to allow to soak on dog for about five minutes. There is no way my dogs were staying put for that long.
I bought this for my blue heeler. I got a handful of hair off her. After reading all the reviews I'm willing to try it again a little bit later and not just give it a bad review. I'm also guessing that since its winter she may not be shedding as much hair so hopefully it will work better when it starts warming up. It is expensive for a brush but if it ends up working then its worth it."

"I got the FURminator two days ago, and it is absolutely fantastic. I got the largest one for my German Shepherd Dog. I have never seen anything like it... the FURminator got so much fur off of her it was mind boggling. Usually when I brush her, I can measure the amount of fur she sheds in puppies... so I'll say, that's enough fur for two puppies or something like that. The other day, it was enough fur to cover two full-grown shepherds. Once you use it a few times, though, it's more just about maintenance so you don't always get such a massive amount of fur.
My dog's coat has always been shiny and soft, but it's even better now, plus I know that if I'm filling bags of fur, I'm not having to clean it up off the floor later.
Recommendations: do NOT use this inside (especially the first time)!!! Also, realize that you will get fur on yourself as well, so dress accordingly.
Go buy it now... it's completely worth the high price!"
