This product does what it says it will do. I have used it several times. However, it doesn't last 12 months. More like 30 days, but it isworth it.

Does What it Claims

We live in a small apartment with one indoor cat who has developed a flea problem. More than likely due to poor landscaping and stray cats running around our building.
This carpet powder was recommended by an employee at our local PetSmart store.
So far, this seems to be doing what it claims - kills fleas/larvae in your carpets and upholstery.
We were told to NOT put this on upholstery or any place where our bodies would be rubbing against it.
We were informed that the dust created would settle onto the upholstery/furniture and be enough to deter the fleas from settling there, forcing them to the more concentrated carpets.
For those worried about dust - there IS dust - especially when you brush it with a broom into your carpet. So, pick up anything you don't want dust on, cover food sources, plates, cat toys, etc.
A cheap disposable dust mask (my fiance brought a few home from work with him) will help with that issue. Also, wear shoes or at least socks if you intend on staying on the treated area. Shower after treating/sweeping with a broom to get the dust off of yourself.
You MUST keep your pet out of the area for the duration of treatment.
If this isn't possible, maybe treat one room, wait a day, and quarantine him to that room while you treat the rest of your house.
Before you run the vacuum, take the time to dust the rest of your house/apartment as this DOES create a bit of dust.
I've left the carpet powder on for the full 24 hours, after sprinkling and "brooming". I ran the vacuum twice over all treated areas, in addition to keeping a flea collar in my vacuum canister.
For the price and effectiveness, this product does what it claims.
It's not a QUICK fix - as in you cannot just dump the powder and forget about it. It takes work - but it's worth it for the results.
Pros: price, potency
Cons: dust, requires work most folks don't realize that

I previously used Sentry Carpet Flea Powder and had excellent results. PetSmart was out of the Sentry so I purchased the BioSpot. It was a horrible dusty mess! Everything in my house was COVERED in this stuff, even in rooms I didn't go in! It was disgusting and I left it on for only an hour. The Sentry I was able to leave on the full 24 hours without a problem. Do not buy this product!

We bought this, seeing it had good reviews online.
First of the chemical smell was horrible, we actually starting getting dizzy and light-headed. At first, it seemed to work, but instead of killing the fleas, it made them mad, and they started biting more frequently.

My two dogs have really bad allergies and when I tried other carpet powders from Walmart, not only was the smell horrible (it made me gag), but I had to vacuum at least five ties to get the smell to go way. This product I put it down it didn't have a severe smell, I vacuumed once afterwards and there was no smell at all in my house.
