I'm 27 and have always owned cats and dogs, never in that entire time have I experienced a flea problem in my home. I currently own an indoor cat and a dog who goes in and out. We do not use any flea control products on them. Just a week ago I was sitting on my couch and noticed a flea jump on me. Because I have a newborn (1 month old) baby and a 5 year old I was really worried about bringing pesticides into my home but did not want to waste any time eradicating any fleas before we became infested. I first tried an all natural method but my home became covered in dust and I was worried about my boys breathing it in because you have to continually use it for it to be effective. I then decided to try this carpet powder despite the pesticides in it mainly because of the Nylar which will make it so the fleas won't develop properly and I was hoping that it would only take one application hence my boys won't be breathing in dust for an extended period of time. For application you only have to lightly sprinkle it over the entire carpet and brush it in with a broom (not a brush, this stuff burns if you get it on your skin!), make sure to where a mask when brushing it in since it can stir up a bit of dust and it will irritate your lungs/throat. You can vacuum it up after 60 minutes but I left it down for the recommended 24hours just to be safe (but make sure everyone wears socks for that time or else their feet will burn). While I did still see tiny fleas before I vacuumed I didn't see any of the big ones, after vacuuming I did see the small ones a few hours later again but much less of them. Also I had no problem vacuuming up the dust from the carpet powder. My overall opinion of this product is that in conjunction with vacuuming, washing EVERYTHING, and treating your pet it works great! While it hasn't solved my flea problem overnight it has definitely helped tons (it's been less than 48hrs since first use) I'll have to update in a few weeks/months once I see if it lasts.

For some reason at the beginning of summer we didn't have a problem with fleas. But in Sept. we had our first ever flea problem. I was MORTIFIED!! I went to Petsmart the next day and spent 32.61 on 2 bottles of Adams flea and tick carpet powder. In addition, I purchased the Zodiac carpet and upholstery pump spray. I sprinkled Adams first, then an hour later I sprayed the carpet with Zodiac. And I must say within hours there were no more fleas. These are the best 2 products on the market!!!!!! I highly recommend them.
After trying flea collars, shampoos, and sprays I still had fleas in the house. So I decided to give the carpet powder a try. I used it one time and haven't seen a flea since! Easy to use, inexpensive to buy. I highly recommend this product!

This product works amazingly well. My flea problem came from letting a little stray kitten into my home. By the time I purchased a bottle of flea shampoo, it was too late. Within days, fleas were everywhere! The day before picking up a bottle of this flea powder, I must have pulled 30 fleas off of my socks with masking tape!
I applied the flea powder to my carpet one night before going to bed, and by the next morning, my flea problem was solved. I was really very skeptical that it would eliminate all of the fleas... especially so quickly. And, I certainly did not expect it to kill all of the fleas with only one treatment.

Not only do I still have fleas and larva in my carpeting, but I have been unable to remove this product after applying. I used it exactly according to the label, and have now vacuumed about a dozen times since and there is still an apparently thick layer of dust on my carpet. I am going to have to resort to paying a professional cleaner to remove this annoying dust from my home. My cats don't want to walk anywhere that has carpeting, and whenever I or my family go barefoot, we can feel the gritty residue on our feet. My vacuum isn't old or a cheap model, but I suggest you get something industrial before you use this powder. There was nothing on the label or on their website saying that it can't or shouldn't be used on plusher carpets, so I assumed it would be safe. I was wrong.
I TRIED THIS AFTER HAVING A MAJOR FLEA PROBLEM IN MY HOME DUE TO A NEW PUPPY WE ADOPTED FROM A FRIEND WHO DIDNT TREAT FOR FLEAS.............IT WAS UNREAL HOW FAST THE FLEAS MULTIPLIED.........I USED SPRAYS AND OTHER POWDERS.........WAS IN PETSMART AND DECIDED TO GIVE ADAMS POWDER A TRY BECAUSE WE HAD USED THE SPRAY ON OUR OUTSIDE DOGS.........HAD A PLEASANT CITRUS SMELL AND WORKS GREAT.........I MIGHT HAVE LEFT IT DOWN LONGER THAN THE DIRECTIONS CALLED FOR BUT NOT MUCH LONGER.........I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE IT HAD TIME ENOUGH TO WORK IF IT WAS GONNA WORK.............WE NOW PERIODICALLY TREAT OUR PET BEDDING AND USE IT AROUND THE PERIMETER OF OUR HOME..............WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS TOO.........THANKS ADAMS PRODUCTS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT
