It takes more than just a flea collar to keep your home and pet flea free but this one sure does help. I was leary of flea collars, afraid of skin irration, but this one is not only effective but it smells good and is gentle enough that it has never irritated any of my cats skin. This is the only one I feel safe using and they are much less expensive than the others as well.
Smells got you down? Sick of having to light incense here and there and everywhere? Well, with this collar, your cat can double as a mobile air freshener! Also you will always know where she is because she is because you will smell her from a hundred paces. I grew up with three outdoor cats and I know these collars are effective, but the stench is too much for me. Maybe if you have no sense of smell it will be fine for you.
My cat had always been kind of grumpy and very skinny! He never finished his food even when we put the smallest amount. He's an outdoor cat as well. We took him to the vet and he got a shot as well as this collar and BAM!!! He was a plump little kitty again eating normally and he NEVER scratches himself anymore! I think I owe part of my cats life to this collar!
These collars really only get the fleas that are around the face and neck. To make them more effective, throw one in your vacuum bag. When you vacuum, any fleas, eggs, or larvae vacuumed up will die in the bag. If you have a canister, like I do, then you don't really want the collar banging around while you're vacuuming. Put a collar in your trash can for when you empty the canister, and then put a collar in the canister, so that any fleas that didn't fall out when you emptied will be trapped in the canister with the gas. Hope this helps lots of people!!
I have had this collar on my four cats for two months, and I have to say it is totally pointless. We are going to have to dip them and powder the carpets. I put the collars on before they were showing signs of having fleas and they still got them... BTW, they are inside cats, so I don't even understand how they got so many.

Flea collars dont work very well. They only go around the neck so their area of effectiveness is already small. For my cat it keeps the fleas away from the upper half of his body pretty well. I only have to worry about them being on his stomach and back. So if thats all it can do then its not worth using over the drops like Advantage. Flea collars I suppose are good if you already use drops, treat your home and then throw on a collar. Then it would be effective only if the house and the cat are free from fleas.
I have 2 cats and have bought this product twice so far. They aren't scratching like they were and I checked for fleas, they are 85% not there anymore in their fur. it works way better than the Hartz kind. The hartz purple collars they were allergic to I think because 1 of my cats had sores behind her ears from it and both of them just was diggin theirselves raw, just going nuts. So, I highly recommend this product since they aren't allergic to it and the fleas are down.
This collar has vanilla smell, which cats can like better over others. But it does not work at all. After wearing for more than a week, my cat still got fleas....
Collar is long lasting and effective. Never had ticks or fleas on the cats when they have been out playing on the farm. Very rarely do we find a tick inside the house. Cats don't mind their seasonal collar. Highly recommended for indoor/outdoor cats that are in a tick saturated area.
