I've been using Swheat Scoop for years and love it. Very little dust. Good clumping. And no horrible perfume odor (which doesn't work and which smells just as bad as cat waste, in my opinion).
I line my litter box with a plastic bag, and then with old newspapers before putting in a generous amount of Swheat Scoop litter. When I harvest my cats' (3 cats!) deposits, I remove any newspapers which have waste on them. There is little to no odor this way. When most of the litter has been used up by harvesting, I remove everything and start fresh. I use about 1-1/2 to 2 bags per month for my 3 cats, which I consider reasonable. Excellent product!
In all aspects, a great buy. I switched to this litter after an utter failure with another litter. It is flushable, so no more plastic bag waste. It is clumpable but it doesn't clump as tight as clay, which is good, as it tends to fall apart in the toilet and not clog it. the cats love it because it's soft on their paws and feels like the clay. Traps odors very well, and we have 5 cats, so definately a plus ;) . i'm very ecological, so I love the fact that it's made from a renewable resource & the litter itself can be compostable. No waste at all! Amazing product. I've found my litter for life.

I have 2 cats & I've tried many & I bought this because I saw where it was rated number 2 in cat litter, I was looking for less tracking & not as dusty. Well, it is less dust but it sticks to the paws of my cats & it is tracked everywhere. I even have an old towel down in front of their littler box plus a through rug in my laundry room.. They are covered plus there is litter still on my hard wood floors..to me it is definitely not as good as they say.. I clean the box everyday.. It falls apart when I clean it & the smell can at times be a bit overbearing. For he price & some reviews thought I was getting the best..so I was rather disappointed it didn't live up to the ratings I read about.

I've tried every litter (paper, corn, wood, clay, wal-nut) on the market, looking for better, but return to SwheatScoop. Been buying it since 1994, my 13cats have used it reliably. It clumps quickly, covers odors, doesn't track more than other litters, is a renewable resource, gives farmers an alternate income. As far as flushable, we're not supposed to flush it due to the possibility of feline toxo oocysts infecting marine life (article in Cat magazine). I wouldn't buy anything else.
Pros: eliminates odor, low dust, easy to clean

I love this litter as we have two cats approx. 21/2 yrs old. They just had 3 kittens and they are all using the same litter, different boxes. I buy 1 bag of litter and it lasts me approx 2-3 months instead of every week or two. It is awesome stuff. It can be flushed or put in the garbage so it is very enviromentally friendly. I do not have any odor problems using this litter either.
Pros: eliminates odor, low dust, easy to clean

Very poor product

The product is portrayed as low track, low dust, but it is actually worse than the clay type litters. Clumping is poor also leaving you with semi-liquid chunks instead of clumps. This is a guaranteed 1 time purchase only for me.

I tried this litter after fresh step because i wanted to try something natural and hopefully less dusty. Fresh step was great but just way to much dust. This littler is a little dusty but no where near as dusty as fresh step. It doesn't clump as good as i would like but my real problem with it is that it does nothing for oder even though it says it does. Good litter but does nothing for oder.

Wheat weevil invasion

I used this for a long time because it is natural, although it was only fair in terms of odor control. Like another reviewer, I eventually ended up with wheat weevils. They were so hard to get rid of, and obviously the eggs can survive whatever you do to them using natural products. It was a nightmare; they spread through the whole house and new larvae were hatching all the time. This may not happen to everyone but the longer you use it, the greater the chance of invasion.

This cat litter is very delicious food for cockroaches. It invited these nasty creatures from all of my neighbors and they turned our litter box into a feasting/breeding ground. Apparently, wheat (which is the main ingredient in “Swheat Scoop”) is something that crawlers can eat, so, if you like animals that much – go for it! My cat seems to enjoy his new company… something to play with :)

I have been using Sweat Scoop Cat Litter ever since my number 1 cat Mousie Huntress had allergies to other the other cat litters when she was just a baby; which was about 6 years ago. Since then we have become a multi cat house and have 3 more kitties making it a total of 4 and it is still doing the job.
No dust, no perfumes, clumps well..
I love the fact that it does not have chemicals or perfumes when my babies are digging around to go potty. Their little lungs deal with so much of the dirt that is in our air normally I do what I can to make their litter clean and toxin free.
My house does not smell which is important to me and them!!
I love this litter it is a little pricey; I wish I could find coupons to help me out with it but bottom line it is worth the money.

I wish I would have tried Swheat Scoop sooner. It is really great litter - no dust (dust makes my cat sneeze and cough), no tracking, clumps tight, no perfumes, smells good, flushable, and controls odor. I can't believe how well it controls odor.

I love the idea of flushable litter. I loved World's Best cat litter, but my kitties didn't feel the same way. So, after using clay litter for a short period of time, I rejoiced when I found this flushable litter.
My happiness soon dissipated. I have 4 cats. Never once in 7 years have I complained about the smell of their litter...i've had other problems with litter, but smell was not one of them. 3 days into using this litter, neither me or my husband wanted to step foot into the bathroom where we keep their litter boxes. The smell of ammonia brought tears to our eyes; please note, we clean the boxes 2 x a day.
This litter hardened to the bottom of the box when they peed meaning that I have to clean this box every two weeks to keep the ammonia smell from violating my entire house. This litter does a terrible job of keeping the smells down to a minimum. In fact, it is the worst clumping litter I have ever encountered. You practically need a pea strainer to remove all peed on litter.
Sure, it flushes well and sure, I use less of this litter....but after using 2 bags worth, I dumped the third one I purchased into the composter....
I am sure my cats will breathe a sigh of relief when I start using a new litter brand tomorrow...

I've used a lot of cat litters in my 38 years of owning cats. But with 13 cats now, the only litter I use is Swheatscoop because unlike clay litters( scented or not) nothing is as dust free as Swheatscoop. And with all the 40# bags I go through, I also get a free 40# bag for every 12 coupons on the back of the bags!!!!!!!

I wrote a review recently praising Swheat Scoop cat litter after only using it for 24 hours. At first I loved it, clumps extremely well, low to no dust and my cats loved it. I scoop my litter boxes 4-6 times a day so I have no problems with the litter boxes smelling normally. The next afternoon, I noticed a strong sour smell coming from the room where I have the litter boxes, as I scooped the litter I got a strong sour smell right in my face. Even after I would scoop the litter the smell would still linger strong, you could smell it across the house. I place towels down under my boxes so the cats won't track and when I removed the towels to wash them, they had the sour smell on them due to the cats tracking the litter on them. Thought I was sold until the sour smell was just too much to take. I switched to World's Best Cat Litter and now the smell is completely gone, it has great clumping, is easy to scoop due to the light and fluffy texture and I love it.

I am in the process of trying different litters because I'd like to find something better than the dusty smelly clay litter I have always used. I decided to try Swheat scoop and the experience has been disappointing to say the least. I will say that the pros of Swheat scoop are that it is light and does have a slightly better odor than clay "out of the bag". SWheat scoop is more environmentally responsible than clay and can be flushed. The pros end there, however. SWheat scoop claims to have superior clumping power, but I found that the opposite is true. The SWheat scoop does not clump well, and the clumps crumble when I attempt to sift the litter with a sifting scoop. SWheat scoop also claims to not track. Perhaps this is true, but because the litter is so light it goes flying out of the box when a cat is "doing his business", so the whole bathroom is covered in the stuff. Lastly SWheat scoop claims to have superior odor control. While I would agree that the odor "out of the bag" is more pleasant than clay, after a few days of use it does not control waste odors any better than clay litter. In conclusion I was disappointed with SWheat scoop and will not buy it again.

My husband and I just adopted two new kittens a few weeks ago. We are going to start toilet training them soon and so we needed to switch to a flush-able litter.
This was the first brand we tried, it clumps well and the kittens had no trouble adjusting to it. It did not, however, control odor...at all. Whenever my kittens would go #2 the entire 1st floor of the house smelled of cat poo...really badly. So needless to say, I returned it and am now trying something else.

Quite awhile ago my older cat had to have a radioactive treatment for his thyroid. When I brought him home I had to use a flushable litter. I tried a couple of corn ones and they didn't seem to work too well and my other cats didn't take to it so I tried the wheat. It worked great and my other cats had no problem with it. I have since lost that cat but gained some more and no one has had any problem with it. Yes, I agree with everyone else about the smell but it is no different than any other litter. I clean the litter box once a day, flush it down and sweep up the floor. Basically no mess. It's better than any other litter and I've had cats for over 35 years. I highly recommend it and it's better for the environment.
