Definately would not have bought this collar if I had read these reviews first. My [97 pound] puppy is still learning how to walkon a leash and pulls a lot. Collar broke after 4 weeks. Looks great though, wish they came stronger. The plain choke collars are so shiny against Choco's brown fur, I don't want him to be blinged out, but I guess he'll have to be....

I agree with a couple of other posters about this collar possibly being more for looks than functional. Definitely not for heavy use!! I have both the pink and black. These collars look great, but one thing people need to know is that THE LINKS ARE NOT WELDED like they are on many choke chains. They are simply pressed together, therefore this collar is not as strong as it would appear. Please keep that in mind when purchasing for a large, strong breed. With that being said, I still think this is great-looking collar. Wish they made this with stronger, welded links and offered more sizes and colors. I would love to have a purple one.

This collar serves more of an aesthetic purpose. It's not designed for training purposes. It is very cute and while it looks strong enough, DO NOT depend on it if you are working with an unruly or untrained dog. My 80lb female American Bulldog broke/popped a little pink 24 incher and she only had it a few weeks. She is just beginning obedience, so she is nowhere near being fully trained. For a good, all purpose, dependable collar, try an all stainless steel like Herm Sprenger. While more expensive, it is definitely worth it. Save this collar for social outings or light use/wear.

Our dog wears one of these and also wears the martingale choke collar too. That way we can use either or depending on where we are with him or what control we need for him. I like leaving this collar on because its easy to get ahold of with your hands for when someone comes to the door or for in house training. Its a great color!

Does not get tangled, strong and well constructed, unfortunately 24" is the largest available and one of my dogs has a 26" neck.

We bought both the black and pink collars for our dogs. Not only are they very strong, they look great too (black for our tan red-nose pit and pink for our black lab/pit). The dogs love chewing on eachothers collars while playing. We were buying new collars for both dogs at least once a month and just wasting our money. We've tried heavy nylon and expensive leather. Nothing worked. These are the only ones that have stood up to our power-chewers (they've had them since the end of last summer). We really like the braided nylon because it seems to make the collar more comfortable for the dogs too.

I bought this collar for my 90lb Mastiff Puppy. I just couldn't bring myself to buy a normal choke chain even though I've used them before to train my older dogs. The chain itself is made very well and it is cute. However the added fabric between the rings of the chain made it very difficult to slip back into place after a check. In fact on more than one occasion I had to stop training and readjust the collar so it would quit pulling on my dog's neck. It's very hard to be clear and teach what you want your dog to learn if the collar doesn't release when you do. And since this should only be used while training or handling it really serves no purpose for me. I wouldn't buy it again.
