I use this collar on my Boxer for every walk. I never worry that the collar will pull off of his head if I needed to hold him back for some reason. I have peace of mind in knowing that this collar also seems to be alot more comfortable than the more traditional "choke collars". This collar does not pinch his skin. I will never use anything else for our walks!

We purchased this not too long ago. We absolutely love the idea behind this kind of collar. It worked great on our German Shepherd. However today she chewed through it. The part that slips and slides to tighten around her neck...it is completely demolished. I'm still struggling to figure out how she even made this happen.
Pros: looks great, Easy to ControlDog
Cons: poor quality

We have a Coonhound and these are the only collars that will keep her. She has broken numerous collars and leashes, and escaped as well. With the martingale (without chain) we can rest easy when she is on walks, or even just outside for a few minutes. Also, she no longer even attempts to slip out of it - almost like she knows....
Pros: comfortable, durable, looks great, Easy to ControlDog

These collars look great and are good for keeping your dog in a collar so they can't escape but not good for stronger breeds. I have a very strong hound puppy that has gone thru countless collars including leather. Was hoping this collar would work to keep him on his line long enough for me to get home from work on nice days but he snaps them in half almost instantly. Would be wonderful if they were made thicker or wider.. but still a good choice for escape prone dogs!

Great all around collar !! Two year old standard when pulling backwards on the "former" leash would always slip the leash over his head and go off running. No more!!...with the Martingale No Slip Collar, the collar tightens up quickly, securely and safely. Recommend this collar to any dog owner whose dog slips out of their collar.
Pros: great price this collar, quality dog collar
Cons: none at this time

we bought this for our greyhound puppy who was very bad for pulling and getting loose from her collar. this collars fits nicely on dogs with larger necks and smaller heads, also is a nice sturdy design and washes well when needed. it tightens but doesnt choke your dog like choke chains, i have reccomended this collar to many people who have similar issues.

We love to travel with our yellow labrador but normal collars have never been very reliable for us. With all the extra skin she has around her neck, she's been able to slip out of the collars and even harnesses we've used in the past. For a while now, we've been using a metal pinch collar, which we hated because it would chafe her neck and it just seemed cruel to use. We finally found this collar, which was inexpensive so we decided to try it. Although she does pull on it at first more than with the pinch collar, it seems to be doing exactly what we wanted, which is keeping her at the end of her leash.
For the price, this is absolutely the best alternative for dogs who tend to slip their collars. And it is much more humane than pinch collars or choke chains! We just wish we had found it sooner...
Pros: inexpensive, durable, humane

This collar is great for training and for boxer dogs as they have the thick neck and our boxer tends to slip her collar. Well with this collar she cannot slip it. Its nicer than the regular chain choke collar, you have more control but yet doesn't gag or choke the dogs as much just applies pressure nicely and they are easier to control. We have bought them for both our large dogs. Wouldn't use anything different now.
Pros: great control and fit

This collar is a very safe and effective way to walk your dog. It is nice to have the peace of mind that your dog cannot break/slip out of the collar it is wearing and run away! Easily adjustable to help it not fit too tightly. Good buy!

We tried everything for our small Sheltie! From harnesses to choke collars. She could slip out of everything, and with my 10 yr old walking her I didn't want to use a choke. This type of collar has worked perfect. When she tries to back away she can't slip it, and has pretty much stopped trying. I would like to see the 6-10" in a wider width, but overall we've been very happy. The key is making sure you have it tight enough for the 2 rings not to touch when engaged, otherwise they will still be able to slip it.

We cannot say enough positive things about this collar! Our dog has a larger neck and smaller head. Thus he is able to slip out of every collar and harness we have purchased him... and we've tried a bunch. All the "escape proof" products are not escape proof for our dog. He spooks easily and will try and back out of his harness/collar, and he could do so VERY quickly. Not anymore! This collar is so great! I was very skeptical after trying other options but decided we might as well give it a shot. It's amazing. We went for a walk in a new neighboorhood and a few kids on bikes got him a little spooked and he tried to back out. And guess what? He couldn't! We were shocked and so happy to have found something that actually works!
Another thing to note is that our dog seems to be much more comfortable in this collar than a harness. It's as if he feels more safe and secure with it on. Since we've purchased it our walks have gone from being constantly worried about him backing out, to having a dog that doesn't spook as much and when he does he can't back out. It's amazing. I know I sound like a broken record, but really when you've tried as many options as we have and have been let down over and over then to stumble upon an 8 dollar collar that works. It's great!

I have a German Shepherd /greyhound mix and she wiggles right out of the collar no matter how tight it was adjusted. I thought since the label on the collar said made specifically for greyhounds it would work. It was a bit of a dissappointment

Martingale Noslip collars

February 15, 2007
by Chiappone

My parents have a coonhound who has that certain shape head where the regular collars slip right off. Finding a collar that would fit and stay on was an issue since as a hound if she gets loose, she's miles away in just a few minutes, following her nose. The No-slip Martingale collars have been wonderful, no more risky walks hoping she doesnt see something her houndness has to make her try to chase and get out of a collar! Absolutely wonderful if you dog has that more "greyhound" head and neck shape.

I am so glad that you have products for greyhounds and whippets. I would recomend the martingale collar. We have 4 whippets and they all have the collars. I find them to be more comfortable for the dogs and more reliable.

The ideal collar: It has no buckle to come unsnapped, but it is completely adjustable, washable, very durable. It has two rings--one for the dog's ID and license tags and another on which to fasten a lead, a tremendous asset.

It has always been hard finding my Italian Greyhound the right collar. Most collars are just not made for sight hounds. This is the first collar I have been completely happy with. As most sight hound owners know sight hounds can slip out of almost all collars, but this collar seems to have solved that problem for me.

No replacement for a PROPERLY used chain choker. My Bullmastiff will heal walk on a chain but the Martingale is completely usless for correction. However, it's mostly foolproof, and won't come off. If you choose to use a chain choker, PLEASE ask a trainer how to use it, and use if for training only.

These are the best collars for all types of dogs. For the larger breeds they can not snap like the plastic clip variety. The fact they can't back out of them or "slip" them makes this collar style one of the safest choices. They offer control without looking "menacing". They also offer quick correction ability.
