Our dog gets anxious when we take him to the vet and last time nipped at someone so this year we decided to get him a muzzle just in case. I wanted to try it on at home to make sure it fit and once on and tighten properly, within 30 seconds he sprinted off to the other room and yanked it off. I had an appointment so I decided to put in on last minute because now we were running late. I put it on right before walking into the vet inside my car and from the car to the door of the vet he had fallen to the ground, got both paws stuck in the mesh trying to pry it off and he had flipped in around and the muzzle was a cone on top of this head. I ended up asking if they had one inside and borrowed theirs before bringing him in again. It was cloth and he might have trying once but it seems to work since he kept it on the entire checkup. Fun yearly checkups! Thank goodness they are not very often.

I like the mesh muzzle, it allows air flow and it is made strong/sturdy. My Schnauzer wears a size 3 just like the package states. It is true to the fit :) Has a slide release buckle. My dog never slipped/worked his way out of it. Allows the dog to still lap water and breathe.

I hate that I have to use these from time to time but when working with a rescue and transporting multiple dogs at the same time, micro chipping and grooming they come in handy. Just remember.. do NOT leave this on your dog for more than about 10-15 minutes!!!

we had a new dog come into our family and he was very aggresive, we tried everything to get him to stop, walked the dogs for 2 weeks at a netrual site side by side no problems, bringing them home and doing the same, more agressive but controlable, so after a month we tried in the house no way would this work, we found the muzzle at your store and put them on the deck, they went after each other but could'nt hurt each other so we kept doing this until it stopped, now they all get along and all is well. if you have the same problem TRY this muzzle it is a very cheap and effective way to solve the problem.

Pros: durable, Easy to ControlDog, comfortable, looks great

I got this muzzel because my Weimaraner puppy gets very excited when I get home and he tends to nip. I got this muzzel for him to wear in the first 15 minutes of his excitement. It worked well at first but then he learned to take it off. It fits around his snout perfectly and I checked the instructions and it was on properly and i made sure it was tight enough yet he can still take it off in less than a minute. I would have been more satisfied with this product if it was made im such a way that it would fit more securely.

I bought the muzzle for our 65 lb put bull. We've had some recent issues with him chewing non-dog toys while visiting my parents. The muzzle is perfect for our intended purpose (preventing Chewy from destroying non-dog toys) and for unintended purposes. Unexpectedly, the muzzle serves as a wrestling facilitator between the pit bull and our lab. Seconds after we put the muzzle on Chewy, Leia (the lab) engages in playful wrestling with Chewy. It is as if she knows he wont bite her! Previously, she would not engage in play wrestling because the pit bull has a tendency to play a little rough with his mouth. This is such a great product! Another note, the muzzle stays on! It also does not look as intimidating as some of the other "pit bull" muzzles out there.

I bought this to prevent dog bites while doing post-operative P.T. on my Lab X. Although she only has to wear the muzzle for approximately 30 minutes, she hates it and tries to claw it off. Still, it's for everyone's good at this point.

My dog is 41 pounds and measures 9" around the end of her muzzle, but a size 6 fits her fine. It's a well-made muzzle that goes on and off easily, and I was happy to see it on sale.

Got this for my 165 lbs mastiff. The sizes this product come in are 1-7, 7xl, 8 and 8xl. But I guess Petsmart doesn't carry 7xl or 8 which is what would have fit my pet. I got the 8xl but it was too big. It also needs to list measurements for the length of the snout they fit. I think that even if I could get the right size it would still fit shoddily.

I have a shar-pei mix that tends to be agressive towards small animals when he's outside. I don't think that that straps are very secure because they have slipped over his ears a few times. Even after I tighten them, they come loose after a while. It just doesn't seem very sturdy.

I found this muzzle to work great. I have a blue heeler border collie who howls and tends to nip people who get to close to me. This muzzle is tight enough to prevent biting and most barks. She can still bark but it is much quieter. At the beginning I thought her dew claws were going to destroy it. It works on all my dogs. With proper training with your dog this muzzle is a great investment.

We have 90# lab/ hound who can be very dominating toward some dogs. His demeanor usually very good with most dogs, but unpredictably does lunge at some dogs to dominate. I can see how this muzzle wouldn't work on short, stubby noses and if your dog has their duclaws. Ours got it off once, but after adjusting it works great. Now he is all bark and no bite, but is still pushy.

I have a Purebred German Shorthaired Pointer about 50 pounds and he is 3yrs old and he likes other dogs just not small and when I tried the basket muzzel he would chew on the sides and would bark and growl constant while walking him with my dobie girl. Now since I got this muzzel he is PERFECT and calm with it now. I can finally walk him without worrying he is going to bite a small dog or an dog/human he doesn't like. I would highly recamend this to medium/larger sized breed of dogs. This muzzel also works great for training.

Boxers are not listed on sizing chart for a reason, I guess. To get one to fit her mouth circumference it pokes into the eyes and extends out so far I am afraid she would be able to pull it off. Still looking for a muzzle to fit, PetSmart has only this one.

we put this on our blue healer because she barks at everything. bought one size and it seemed too big so we went smaller. we have been adjusting it but it seems after a while the fabric stretches. she cant bite, but she can still bark./..........i cant go any smaller it won't fit. overall, sizing is poor and material is poor.,

my 6 year-old schnoodle bites everytime the groomer tries to clip his nails so i bought this to try and get him to stop. It works but he keeps trying to get it off. Also, when guests come over, i put it on him and it keeps him from biting and barking. I would recommend this to a friend.

I have a Border Collie who tries to nip children when they run and is very reactive to other dogs when they come near her. I took her to a disc dog competition today and she tried to go after a child and some dogs but with no success thanks to this muzzle! Just the other day I asked a friend if she had any ideas for dogs to stop barking and she suggested the muzzle... it WORKS!

I bought two muzzles for both of my dogs, a chihuahua and a sheltie.

The muzzle worked really well for the sheltie. It fit perfectly and it wasn't too tight or too loose. The adjustable strap made it simple for me to adjust the length, if necessary.

However, for the chihuahua, although it fit perfectly with ease and comfort, he didn't really like it so he was literally scratching at it until it came off. I had tighten the fit but again managed to get it off. I didn't want to make it too tight in which he would scratch to the point where he bleeds.

Overall, I would recommend this product to passive dogs.

I had picked up the muzzle so that the dog would stop nipping at my elderly father.

The product is a good product if you can bring your dog with you to have it fitted for one.

I had to go back to the store 3 times in order to get the right size muzzle. It is a grossly miss weighted producted.

I had originally picked up the 28 to 48lb muzzle for my 30lb dog and it was too tight. He could not really breath, drink or pant.

Once I did get the appropriate size for him (which was 2 sizes larger than suggested) it worked great.

Pros: it works

Cons: packaging is severly mis weighted

Of course you can't let the dog pull it and try to take it off. That's where the training comes in. I does exactly what it is suppose to do, prevent the dog from biting.

We have used this product for 5 years in our household. We have a "blended" household where we had to combine 2 dogs who did not like each other. For the smaller dog's protection, after one incident that was not pleasant, we purchased this muzzle for the larger dog. She is indeed able to pant, breath, drink with the muzzle on, and eat treats. She cannot bite, which is the whole purpose of the muzzle.
My suggestion is to go to a local store, however, and try them directly on your dog to get the proper size. The sizing chart is not always the most accurate, particularly if your dog is larger or smaller than the norm within its breed ---- therefore can be deceptive in their sizing chart.
Fastened properly behind the back of the head, they cannot remove this muzzle. However, big toenails and/or strong dogs can eventually tear the mesh, but it takes a lot even to do that --- a whole lot.
My dog is large and very strong, and we go through about 3 or 4 of these a year --- but that's $20 a year to prevent outright war between 2 dogs that cannot get along, and all the vet bills that would accompany an attack on the little one.
More than worth it! Just remember no muzzle is for constant wear ---- please do not leave a dog muzzled for extended periods of time!!!!!
