Product very good. Have not had any issues with product except that my 1 year old bassett decided to eat the bottom flap of the door. I came home from work and noticed the bottom of the flap was gone.

The Petsafe door is great for convenience, but finding replacement flaps is a booger. I went to several stores, all of which carry the doors, but none carry the replacement flap I need. If I knew it was going to be so hard to find the part, I would have gotten a different brand. I have had the door only 12 months and the flap needs replacing already. They are not tough enough for my 3 dogs.

takes a lot of abuse

I have two large dogs that run in and out of this door at full speed and also run into the door. This has been going on for over a full year and this door showes no wear or tear. And for it to take this much abuse and our heat and cold in this desert it is wonderfull. I have been telling all my dog friends to buy one. THANK YOU for such a great product.

I love the Classic Pet Door!!!!

The door is well built and of decent quality. I was looking for a reasonably priced unit with a flexible door. I found it with the "Classic" My 2 German Shepherds used it after a few minutes of coaxing - with treats, of course.
My Classic Pet Door was being installed in a one inch thick storm door - watch the specs - some Dog Doors require a minimum door thickness of one and one half inches.
I read good reviews on "the Classic" on the WWW - I did a lot of investigating.
We love the flexible door. It fits pretty snugly from an energy efficient standpoint.

This is a great concept but the doggy door is cheaply made. I recommend a more expensive brand if you insist on having a door. We got this one first and then bought a more expensive one after we saw how much our dogs loved it!

The replacement doors fall out. After contacting the manufacturer, they say the mold has not changed. There are five seperate marked changes to the replacement doors (no 1-800 number, ribbing is smaller and defective design prevents the replacement door from staying in the track).
