We have 2 cats and it is nice not going to the trash everyday as we are in an apt. We had a "cat waste pail" before. When I open the lid it is very nice not having to hold my breath as the smell is concealed. I used to make my own waste bags out of grocery plastic bags but I like this so much, buying bags will be o.k. It has been almost a week and haven't had to emtpy it yet.

I love this product. I have been using it for three months now. Living in an apartment, it is cumbersome for me to dispose of kitty litter daily. The liners/bags used inside the litter locker keep in the odor so my small bathroom does not smell. I only have to discard the litter from the locker once every ten days or so, which is a great length of time over daily! Each refill ring lasts a month for my cat. I highly recommend this product!!!

We are forced to have our cat's litterbox in our bedroom in our apartment. The litter locker is the best idea anyone has ever had about 'litter duty'. With one cat, we change the cartridge about once a month, emptying it a couple of times until it runs out. There is no smell and no mess. The scoop fits right in the back to keep it from getting anything else dirty. It's a great alternative to using platic sandwich baggies. I can't tell you how wonderful and easy it is! Love it!

I've had this liter locker for a year now and rarely use it because it is so hard to set up and the bags rip easily. I ended up using plastic grocery bags in it instead of the bags it came with. I have two cats and clean the waste out every morning and evening. It really wasn't worth purchasing.

Have used this product for many years now and love it. It decreases the need to dispose of waste daily and decreases the odor. It is simple to use and easy to clean. With 2 cats, I went through a roll every 3 weeks. Sadly I only have 1 cat now and am on the 6th week of the same roll. This week was the first I detected an odor. I simply cut the liner, disposed of the solid waste and I think I will get another few weeks out of the same roll. While the rolls are pricey, they are well worth it.

This product is easy to use, and really does keep the smell from getting out! With one cat you only need to refill the bags once a month, emptying the locker and starting a new knot usually twice. Once it starts to get full it smells a little sour when you open the lid, but this is to be expected. When the lid is closed you can't smell a thing!

I decided to purchase this after reading many reviews for it on this site. I was hoping that the favorable ones would turn out to be more accurate, and as far as I'm concerned they certainly were.

This does a great job of containing the odor, and is very easy to use. I don't understand the negative reviews. I haven't had any problems with this at all. I would have to guess the people with complaints didn't read the instructions, because if you don't use it properly I can see how it wouldn't work very well. That is not a fault of the product though. Also, some people have stated that the opening is too small for the scoop that comes with it. That really baffles me. I haven't had any problem with that. I just scoop the litter into the opening and not onto my floor. Seems simple enough to me.

I have one cat who creates a pretty substantial amount of waste, and I have to empty the bag about every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. I don't know yet how often I'll have to buy new bags.

Other than that I agree with all the other positive things people have said about this. I actually clean my cats litter more now, because it's simpler and quicker.

I bought this product over a month ago and couldn't be happier. I read some complaints on how the bag tear and are hard to install, but I find this to be false. Every night I come home from work and scoop the days droppings into this and turn the wheel. I have not had one rip or tear.

Now for ease of use, well set up was a snap and connecting the bags to the wheel is simple.

As for the smell, well proof is in the pudding. This thing contains all smells and does it awesomely...lol...

I think any cat owner should buy this product and also the cost of the bags are now cheap so it isn't a cost issue

I have been decently happy with my Litter Locker Plus. I've only had 2 accidents of a bag tearing because I over stuffed it. It comes apart really easy to clean. It's very easy to insert a new bag cartridge.

The downside......

I have two larger breed cats... bigger cats mean bigger kitty roca... The scoop that comes with it is too small for my girls' kitty roca. I purchased a separate larger scoop made by PetMate, and it would not fit in the holder :(. And, I go through cartridges faster than they say I would.

Despite these, I would still recommend getting one.

Pros: easy to use, good directions, easy to store, easy to clean

Cons: limited colors, small scoop, holder won't fit larger scoops

Cheaply Made and Too Small

I don't personally own one of these things, but have used it when caring for a friends animals. I would never buy one, it is cheaply made and feels like it will fall apart. When caring for my friends two cats for a week I originally thought, "What a great idea! It's a Diaper Genie for Kitties!" Not so, the idea is great but the execution is a huge waste of money! If you're thinking about purchasing, I wouldn't! Twice the turning mechanism slipped apart while I was using the thing, and the bag was a pain to remove once it was full. The thing didn't really hold a lot of wast and my friends two cats really aren't that messy (certainly not as messy as my own two cats), and last but certainly not least the scoop is too wide for the opening (as some other reviewers have mentioned) so I was still constantly cleaning up litter from off the floor...that I had spilled MYSELF trying to clean up after the cats!!!!! A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY...DON'T BUY IT!

Pros: none, nada, zip, zilch, zero!!!!!!!!!

Cons: everything, flimsy, falls apart easily, costly bag system, opening is too narrow for the scoop, a total waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I this product was the answer to end my trips to my outside garbage can. The product size is small, hence why it doesn’t hold much waste. I have 3 cats and they use the litter box like crazy. One plastic roll lasted my 2 days!!!! That’s insane!! What a waste of money on the plastic rolls!!
I would rather go back to using grocery plastic bags and throwing it outside in my garbage can.
If you want something that will really hold a lot of liter and keep the smell out. Litter Champ is the best product!!

Pros: takes the odor away, product is small

Cons: the plastic rolls don't last long, not worth it

Litter Locker Plus does contain the odor and when I started using it I wondered why I hadn't bought one sooner. However, the opening is too small for the scoop which causes some of the litter to end up on the floor. Also, with 2 cats I have to empty it frequently. The Locker is not sturdy, when changing the bags it tends to come apart, sometimes when turning the wheel to go to the next bag it slides apart. I've stopped using it. I also found that because it holds more than one day's worth of "scooping" I didn't realize how heavy the bags would be when removed. My trash is about a block away and when adding the litter to the rest of my trash, it becomes quite heavy. This is not for me.

Pros: contains odor very well, doesn't take up much space

Cons: opening too small, bags not easy to change, construction not sturdy, no warning when you're about to run out of bags

I HATE scooping litter into shopping bags and the smell is disgusting. I purchased this item a couple of weeks ago--although I was a bit skeptical when I saw it on the shelf, I decided to try it. I just went through my first go round and had to empty my Litter Locker after two weeks. Yes, the area at the top where you scoop the waste is a bit small; however, I find the scoop that comes with it to be a perfect fit and I rarely (if ever) had spillover. Overall, the key to this product is to read the instructions. There were reviews where individuals complained about bags ripping, the crank turning too hard, etc. I believe if you follow the instructions and don't over fill each time you scoop litter, empty the Litter Locker when the crank is "tight", you won't have any problems. I had concerns about the bags feeling cheap, but I had no problems with tearing or ripping. I have two cats and one cat pan--I had concerns about overfilling the bags, but had no problem. When it came time to empty, the captured litter easily comes off the spool and into the trash. Also, I was totally surprised that I had absolutely no odor for the past two weeks. And, I still couldn't smell the litter when I emptied the reel into the trash. I did wipe out the interior and around the rim with Lysol wipes just because I wanted to and not because it was necessary. I totally recommend this product; but encourage reading the instructions before you start using it and read them again when it's time to empty.

It's cheap. The rolling mechanism keeps coming off its 'hinges'. You have to empty it out every 2 or 3 times max you use it, because it smells; you have lingering odor in the air regardless of the lid. It's very awkward to cut out a piece of the rolling plastic tube and make a 'bag' out of it to throw out. It's also extremely awkward to tie a knot at the end of the plastic to 'create' a bag, then loop it inside, close the thing back up and have it roll properly. I am a very handy person. Things are not usually complicated to me. I just think this product is for the birds. It's a lot simpler to just clean out my litter box in a kitchen catcher and go throw it out.
