Plastic breaks too easily

Bought this and the first day it broke where you put the plastic screws while attaching the lid to the bottom. Because of time constraints was able to fix using duct tape. Today the lower slide to hold the door broke. Will never buy another like this again.

Good carrier

I bought this before taking home my persian kitten. Yes, it has many small parts, but it is easy to assemble. If I had a heavier cat I would probably get another carrier that can hold more weight, but for a kitten or smaller cat under 8 pounds I think it is great. Good value!
Pros: comfortable, easy to assemble, easy to clean, price

I bought this originally for my small kitten and it was not a good carrier. It was cheap plastic and It was annoying to find pieces broken off but it did get her where she needed to be so its not all bad.

Not the best one out there, but will do the job

I wanted to buy my cat a new carrier (just because he started to get older and bigger in size), so I bought this one.
During the first weeks of having it, it worked fine. One time, I accidentally dropped it and the edges broke (had cracks in them) and the little black hook-like tighteners fell off and some got lost (I think my cat ate them). Now whenever I use it, I put my hand underneath to give it support so it won't break apart. I am definitely buying him a new carrier, this one is good for those who what a temporary carrier.

I bought this carrier two years ago and was about to purchase another one for my mother's new cat when I viewed the other reviews about it.
To be fair, I've never had a problem with it. I use it frequently. It has carried my two rabbits at the same time and they are big boys. It's carried my mini dachshund. A cat. And most recently a litter of 6-8week old kittens.
Yes the latch is manual and sticks on occasion. But despite losing two of the little black plastic locks that hold the top and bottom sections together there has been no loss in strength.
Ok, I've defended my little workhorse. It's time to go buy it.
Pros: roomy, good price

This is the worst carrier that I have ever seen. The door latches are made out of an unsturdy and very week plastic. I can see this possibly working for a small animal like a ferrett or guinea pig, but for a cat or small dog it does not work. I own 2 cats and both are about 12 pounds and both destroyed the doors on these carriers. I highly do not recommend it.

Eventually the door will break...

January 28, 2010

This carrier is larger than the average cat carrier and is also inexpensive. It served me well for a year before the plastic door inevitably broke. My cat likes to push his nose up against the door and try to escape and that probably led to some initial weakening. My advice, spend a few extra dollars for a carrier with a metal door. Otherwise you'll be buying a new one in the future.

Best Economy Pet Carrier

I was afraid when we purchased this carrier that it would be a flimsy, cheap made product. I was very wrong. It's a very simplistic design and very sturdy. We are very pleased with it so far. The size is perfect for our tall, long, and still growing male cat, Smokey. He has plenty of room and he can't "houdini" his way out! Don't waste $ on more expensive models, especially in this economy! I put the whole thing together in less than 10 minutes - by myself and didn't even have to use the instructions. It's a very practical, logical setup. The only drawback is that the door's pin type locks are not spring, but completely manual. For the price we paid, that's a tiny drawback we don't mind.
Pros: economical price, ease of construction, sturdiness, size
Cons: manual "pin lock" type door

Not for me

I bought this pet carrier because it was the cheapest one and I just had to transport my cat. My cat hated it and managed to bend the plastic door and squeeze through it. I would spend the extra money on a heavier duty, metal door carrier that isn't so easy to escape from.

Meow, this carrier was handed down to me from my big sister, Miles, and yes, we lost a few bolts, but my Mom replaced them with those plastic wire ties, and it still works like a champ! Ten years later! and we use it every weekend to go down the shore!!!

I bought 2 of these(one for my rabbit, one for my guinea pigs.) and they work great with small animals, too. I would recomend this product for rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, and ferrets. I'm not sure about mice and hamsters, because they could escape through the holes. I also love the price.

This thing will not hold my cat. She pushes her way out every time. The plastic bolts are so cheaply made that so that when she pushes they eventually come out. I've already lost one bolt. Spend an extra $10 and buy something else.

With the hinges of the doors being plastic, it makes for a much less strong and durable door to this little carrier. Placing heavy objects on top of the door could bend and break the door hinges.

I have had this carrier for 4 years now. I have never had a problem (as with some other brand carriers that my cats push the door off). This is a sturdy carrier, very roomy, and minus all of the metal hardware, that can easily scratch or injury the cat or small dog.
If I adopt another cat in the future, I will also purchase another one of these great carriers.
You can not beat the great price!!!!

I am so thankful that we bought this cat carry. I used to keep my cat at home in the house only. Now she is older and been sick a lot lately. Having this carry has been a life saver, getting her to and from the vet! It helps my cat feel safer when she is at the vet too!

This may not be the best carrier on the market but for the price it can not be beat. It is large enough for a small dog or a good sized cat and is safe since it is all reinforced plastic and no metal for them to bang against. It was a good buy for the money.
