Not all it says it is,

Pros: easy to fill Cons: does not reduce spilling
"I bought this feeder because my birds love to throw their food out of their cage. The description says it reduces spilling outside the cage but it actually made it worse. Now only do they throw all of their food out on the floor but I also have to fill the feeder two to three times a day. It's a huge waste of bird food. I will be looking for a new feeder."

better than a bowl,
June 25, 2008

"I bought this at least a year ago for my cockatiel and quaker parakeet and I love it! I feed them seed mixed with Zupreem cockatiel pellets and there's no need to sift the seed shells out (like with a bowl), the bird does it on its own as it pecks out more seed. It was a little hard to install, as I had to widen the cage bars for the opening. Another problem I had with it was that bigger seeds/pellets would get stuck and seed would not fall out. For example, if I filled the whole tube with Zupreem pellets, they would not fall out evenly, and at some point, they would jam in the opening, leaving the bird without food. This happened when I tried a seed mix with a lot of safflower seeds. However this works great with a millet seed mix. My quaker eats a millet mix with about 1/4 safflower seeds and 1/8 zupreem cockatiel pellets, and it works well with this feeder."

"The best aspect of this product is the fact that you don't have to take it all apart to put more food in for your bird. You just fill it up from outside it's so fast & simple."

JW Pet Clean Seed Silo Bird Feeders,
March 7, 2007

"I BOUGHT ONE. I LOVE IT. EXCELLENT PRODUCT. THE SEED COMES OUT AS NEEDED. THE OLD DISH WOULD BE FILLED WITH SHAFT. MAKING IT HARD TO GET THE SEED THAT WAS LEFT INSIDE.
WASTING A TON OF SEED IN THE PROCESS. I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH THIS PRODUCT. THAT I AM ORDERING ANOTHER. ONCE, AGAIN. I CAN REST KNOWING THAT MY BIRDS HAVE FRESH, AND CLEAN SEED.
SO, I CAN LEAVE FOR A COUPLE DAYS. NOT TO WORRY. THAT THE FOOD IS CLEAN, AND THERE. IT LASTS AT LEAST TEN DAYS FOR TWO SMALL FINCHES. AN AMAZING PRODUCT."
