I'm so glad I found this product. It's very convenient and keeps the birds from spilling the water all over the place. Also, you only need to change the water once daily instead of a few times a day. The birds do get food in the container part, but I think that's inevitable and you have to clean it daily (which doesn't take very long) to keep from bacterial build up.
Pros: easy to clean, durable

I use both sizes. 1 for my budgies and 1 for my zebra finch's and they work well for both and very easy to use and clean.

These are a great waterer for a bird that won't drink from a water bottle. They can be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned. They slide completely out of the bracket that holds them to the cage by pinching two tabs and pulling up. When setting the silo into the holder be sure to pull the stopper closed before flipping it over so you don't lose all the water. It will not leak out if you do it this way. It should say that in some instructions but it doesn't.
Pros: effective way to keep water clean, easy to clean
Cons: poor instructions

A stopper is supposed to come into play when you turn it over, or lift it up.. This does not work on the one I bought. Rather, the water immediately flows out all over the place anytime it is not placed in its holder.

THE INSIDE TRAY IS EASILY BLOCKED BY FOOD.
I purchased this for my sun conure after speaking with an employee.
The bottle did not easily attach to the holder after being installed.
My bird managed to chew off a small piece on the inside cup causing the water to flow completely out

I bought one each for my cockatiel and quaker parakeet a year ago, and my cockatiel never learned how to use it (prefers water bowl), but it is the main water source for my quaker. It is really easy to refill- from the outside of the cage. If you lift the tube part straight up, there's a mechanism inside that stops the water from flowing out (kind of like a hamster water bottle) and you can just replace the water in the tube part. If the bottom part needs to be cleaned, you just squeeze the sides of the plastic and pull it out. I have not had a problem with it leaking. I cover my bird's cage every night and sometimes the waterer gets knocked sideways, but it's never leaked before. The only problem I have with it is that the bird cage is in a semi-sunny spot and algae can start growing in it. I just cover the tube part with paper and problem solved. I don't have the algae problem with the cockatiel's waterer.

It;s a great product in general. however, my birds are on pellets and the trough gets quite nasty after a day. And all the interior of the silo is slimy. you still have to clean it... say once every two days if you are lazy.

This product was awesome for my mom and her lovebirds. Since she is disabled, his was easy for her to use since they didnt require frequent cleaning like regular watering dishes. She also has the feeding one and loves it too.

I BOUGHT TWO, OF THESE WATERING SILOS. THEY ARE EXCELLENT. FINALLY A SOLUTION. NO MORE POO IN THE WATER.
THE OLD WATER CUPS NEEDED TO BE CLEANED, AND EMPTIED. ALL THE TIME. I AM GOING OUT OF TOWN FOR A FEW DAYS.
NOW, I FEEL COMFORTABLE THE BIRDS WILL HAVE PLENTY OF CLEAN WATER. WHAT A RELIEF, AND BLESSING THESE ARE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.
