I have a large number of cats and finding an adequate litter is almost impossible. I have tried just about every brand and Fresh Step is far superior to anything else I have used. I can go twice as long between changes as with cheaper brands; there is never a "cat box" odor; and the cats are very happy with it. I know this because they use the litter box - not the floor. It clumps extremely well and this saves the rest of the litter from becoming saturated (and smelly). Fresh Step pays for itself in time saved; litter saved and aggravation saved. I recommend it to everyone.

Review 2 for Fresh Step Clay Cat Litter with Odor Eliminating Carbon
We have a small house so odor control is a huge concern. We don't want to be known as the house with the cat smell. We have two cats. We started usuing this product about 6 months ago and have been 110% satifisied with it ever since. Make sure the packaging says, "with Odor Eliminating Carbon". This is the newest formula out and the specific type we purchase and highly recommend.

The litter was good in odor control. No annoying smell at all. But it is dusty when I scoop out poops. And somehow, some particles stick to my cat's claw that when she walks out of the litter box, those particles just go all over the floor.
Pros: eliminates odor
Cons: messy, Hard to Sift

Never ever smell anything, no matter how long I forget to clean it! And I save money when I clean it cause I'm only scooping the clumps out, then adding liter! Before had to dump the whole thing out due to the smell
Pros: eliminates odor, easy to clean

When I change the box of litter almost everyday I have become aware that I start to cough even after finishing the job.
I just finished the bag. I know of a cat litter which has no carbon or clay and is made with corn. It clumpable, flushes down the toiletk, last a long time, absorbs wetness and ordor very well. AND the price of course is more than yours. I recommend The Best . It is around twice. But the benefits are exceptional ( my health is important too) and I find the cats even are agreeable to it. So thank you for this opportunity to give my feedback. You might look into using corn in your product.LMA CA. sorry about mentioning specifs of another product. I deleted its name. Best wishes.

Fresh Step Scoop with Odor Shield

I bought Fresh Step Scoop with Odor Shield While the clumping is good, the dust or powder gets on my furniture, when I pour it in the litter box. The box is in a corner of my living room. I have one cat, but he's 20 years old, so I have two boxes.
I bend down low, the litter box is in my living room. However, I can "taste" it after I pour it in the box. It's weird. I close my mouth...and when finished pouring I can taste it!!! Takes about 5 minutes to be eliminated. I have to drink a lot of water. Does anyone else have this problem? There is no 800 number to call!
Pros: easy to clean, eliminates odor
Cons: messy

We adopted a cat for our twins a few weeks ago so we started off with no animal odors whatsoever in the house and wanted to keep it that way. Based on the positive reviews we purchased this litter. Here are my findings: the litter clumps really well so it's easy to clean up, and it controls the smell of urine. However, on the negative side, I know when the cat p00ps, you can definitely smell it from one floor up! I run down to the basement and clean it up right away, so the litter doesn't do much to control the smell of feces. This litter also tracks all over the place which is gross, so I am constantly sweeping and bleaching the floors. The litter is also dusty when you pour it into the litter box which isn't a big deal but I do hate the way it smells, if I were to get this litter again I'd definitely get the odor-free. I'd say this is an average litter. I'll be trying out something new next time.
Pros: clumps well, controls urine smell
Cons: doesn't control the smell of feces, tracks, litter smells bad

Previously I was a Tidy Cats lady, but after moving into a 650-square foot apartment AND adding another cat to my family, Tidy Cats just wasn't doing the trick anymore. I would walk into the apartment and immediately start cleaning because it just smelled like funky, musty old used litter - even if the litter was new! I tried all kinds of products... some kind of 'natural' cleaning spray (smelled like alcohol and didn't help), the CatMouse (huge disappointment!), and just about all litters under the sun (my last try was Arm and Hammer Dual Action - total let-down!!). Finally I was actually walking through the store and considering paying exorbitant prices for "World's Best Cat Litter" but the idea of spending $40 on a bag of cat litter is painful. I happened to notice that PetSmart had a twin-pack of Fresh Step on sale, and being as I completely change out my cat litter religiously each week and buy my litter in two-week intervals, it seemed to fit the bill. (Plus, $16 is a far cry from a $40 bag of cat litter!) I took it home and I'm never looking back. It covers the smell very well, clumps nice and tight, and no more stinky funky used litter smell! The only bad thing I have noticed is that it does not cover the smell of a fresh doo... but after a few minutes, it's fine. Love it! Thanks, Fresh Step!
Pros: clumps well great odor control

My monkees
A family member gave me a large unused bucket of this stuff after having lost their pet. I gladly accepted since having two large cats equals lot of time and money spent on scooping and changing litter. Although I was thankful for the free product, unfortunately, Fresh Step is anything but Fresh plus the stuff gets everywhere and does not clump.
Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars on the Arm & Hammer products.
Pros: none
Cons: does not clump, no odor control, messy

This stuff does a great job at blocking odors. The two main complaints from me is it gets gummy and tends to track easily.

I previously used Tidy Cat clumping litter for years, but my girlfriend wanted to try Fresh-Step. I have to admit that the Fresh-Step clumping Litter is better. We have multiple cats and I've never noticed any kind of smell, as opposed to before when we originally used non-clumping regular cat litter. There is no comparison. I'd recommend Fresh-Step clumping litter to anyone. It really works. The Tidy-Cat clumping litter worked well, but I think the FreshStep controls odors better.

Best clumping litter so far, better than World's Best. Purchased the Lavender scented version, no odor what's so ever so far, can't even tell when my cat does her deed now, have to actually look in and check to keep it clean for her. Only downside is this has major dust when puring into the litter box. Best to pour it outdoors.
Pros: excellent clumping, eliminates odor
Cons: dusty

This is the best litter. It has a great scent, not too overpowering, that controls cat box odors. The clumping action helps remove all urine so the unused litter stays fresher longer. We all (cats and myself) love it.
Pros: smells great, clumps nicely
Cons: gets a little gummy with excessive urine

I think I have tried every type of cat litter under the sun... crystals, organic, pine, paper, wheat grass, you name it. One day my husband started complaining about odor, so I said fine, I'm going to Petsmart! That's when I picked up Fresh Step w/ odor eliminating carbon, and now I don't even know what litter box odor is! This litter has the best odor control by far. For a long time I was hooked on crystal cat litter, but I was sick of it tracking everywhere and being extremely noisy. Then I went to pelleted litters, which were great for tracking, but odor control was not that great, and my cats apparently didn't like it. I say apparently because when I filled a new box with Fresh Step litter, they were so excited that they were both trying to climb into the box at once and refused to use the old box. Does track some, but not as bad as most, not a problem if you vacuum about once a week. I am sad that I can't use the organic and environmentally friendly litters, but my cats, my husband, and my nose thank me for the change.
Pros: by far the best odor control out there!, my cats adore it.
Cons: not environmentally friendly, tracks a little.

I read many reviews on this product and decided to give it a try. I purchased this product at PetSmart and decided to use it with my kitten Molly. The product actually smells good, kind of like laundry detergent, not like most kitty litters that smell very strong and bad. It's very fresh. The clumping power is very good and the product works very well. The only downfall I see is there is a lot of dust when you pour the product into the litter box. Great product otherwise!!!

Since our cat came into our lives, Fresh Step has been the only kitty litter we have ever used. The clumping action helps me out a lot and I never have a cat oder issue. My cat loves this stuff. After the major cleaning of the litter box once a week and the fresh litter is in, she will sit in there and just play.
We have also just tried the Lavender scent and it is a hit, leaving my home smelling fresh with a hint of Lavender in the air. Next we plan on trying the Forest scent.
