This is a GREAT tool for dogs with thick and long hair!! Yes it does not grab the loose hair. But, I just lightly spray my dog with a water bottle and sit outside and comb away all the loose hair. You don't have to do it hard, just firm. My dog LOVES it and my vacuum LOVES it even more!!! AWESOME tool!!!

I had this sitting next to Luna's other stuff, not being used, because I had NO idea how to use it. Then my Uncle demonstrated by using it on his cat. OH. MY. GOSH. There was hair flying EVERYWHERE. And his cat- she was purring and loving it. I was surprised and used it on my dog.
It works pretty well on her, though I'm overgentle with it so it doesn't work as good. You need to rake kind of hard. And do NOT use it inside, because it doesn't catch the hair and the hair floats everywhere.

Pros: gets hair out, easy, (most) pets seem to enjoy it

Cons: hair gets everywhere

this tool works great for dogs that shedd a lot or just have long hair, even shorthaired dogs, but it works amazing for thicker coat dogs, tons of hair is coming out. I have a chow mix that has a very thick undercoat and it worked great, the dog looked so much slimmer and less bothered by the hot days after using it.
