I just decided to muster up the courage to cut my 70 pound pit bull's nails. I have always been afraid of hurting her, and the fact that she hates her nails being touched only increases my anxiety. I don't want her to jerk and I cut the nail too short or even nick her skin. However, no matter how much she walks , runs, or plays on concrete her nails grow insanely fast and need to be clipped every two weeks. We were paying the groomer for nail trims but when it needs to be done every two weeks it gets expensive.
I order these clippers because of the reviews. I am a shop runner member so they did come in within the 2 days.
I don't know if it is because I expecting something that cuts through her thick nails like a hot knife through butter or what but I did have to apply a lot of pressure to get them to cut her nails.
I started yesterday and so far have trimmed 4 nails total..she is still afraid of the idea of her nails being trimmed but if I catch her while she's sleeping I can get one or two clipped before she wakes up which is helpful.
Overall I would say that they are good clippers. They arrived quickly, and while I had to use a lot of pressure there aren't any rough edges, so there is no filing needed.

Although my little dog doesn't like getting her nails trimmed, this is the perfect product! It has a nice, fresh "blade" to perfectly cut the nails. Definitely recommend! :)

It has a nice sharp cut and good grip. Also features a lock that prevents the clipper for opening and causing accidents when stored. The only inconvenience is that after a few times I clipped my little chihuahua nails, the cut hasn't been so sharp (lost sharpness in the cut)

There is nothing our lab hates more than having her toenails trimmed. With our old clippers, we might manage to cut a nail or two over hours of chasing her down, but with these big dog clippers her nails are shorter and safer for the first time. I'm not saying it's an easy job--she still hates it, but these are sharp, they fit around her large nails, and I know they will cut through on the first try making the whole experience a bit less trying for our baby (and for us). If you've got a big dog that just won't sit still for a nail grinding tool, these clippers are the best around.

I have a dachshund mix with thick black nails and these clippers work really well. They do leave the nails a little jagged but a good file helps with this.

My dogs hated the guillotine clippers I had, so I decided it was time to invest in a new clippers. These clippers work great, and nail clipping is no longer a chore. Just a couple of minutes and their nails are trimmed in no time!!

We were using basic clippers, a scissor type like this, and when we would try to trim our 126lb rottweiler/newfie mix the clippers would just bend. We were recommended these by the groomers and I love them! They work great and are the only thing that will actually cut through his nails!

What use to take me 15 minutes took me 3 minutes! These clippers do not twist the nail, they're sharp, very sturdy and do a great job! I don't think my dogs will be fighting me anymore to trim their nails. I have a lab/shepherd mix and a Doberman...big dogs with thick nails.

They are a little more expensive then most nail clippers but they work great! they dont split the nail, they are quick and sharp! i have a 90lb great dane/lab mix who has THICK nails and it cuts right through them.

I bought these clippers to clip the nails on my Olde English Bulldogge. I was impressed in the cost and the fast shipping from PetSmart. I was even more impressed in the ease of using these clippers to clip my big dog's long nails. Even after the first couple clips, my dog was fine with me shortening his nails (a task that used to be very difficult, even for the vet to do). I've used 3-4 different products and this will be the absolute last one I will ever have to use or buy. I highly recommend this to anyone! They are very easy to use and are sharp enough to cut through the toughest dog nails out there. Do yourself a favor and for your dog, try these out!!!!

I Just bought this product last friday and I already recieved them they came very quickly which i was happy with and I tried them write away on my 1yr old Golden Retriever who is usually scared and resistent to get his nails done but after a few nails he became relaxed and didnt mind at all. I had purchased a few different kinds before from petsmart that said they were good for large breeds but were awful specially the ones with the indicators they are not good but these are FANTASTIC and very affordable, i didnt have to use any force to clip and they didnt seem to hurt or discomfort my dog at all and they didnt crack the nail or anything they are sooooo great. I even used them on my parents king shepards who have very thick long black nails and they worked great as well...BEST CLIPPERS EVER FOR LARGE DOGS ...WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WITH LARGE BREEDS

My dog who has notoriously ticklish feet was willing to sit with these clippers. However, The clippers got all of his nails done in under 3 minutes, and he has extremely thick nails that don't get trimmed often because of how difficult it is to have him sit still. He also didn't hide from the clippers or hide his paws after trimming a couple nails. Overall, quite impressive. I've been raving all day.

Pros: doesn't hurt my dog, comes with a case, has a locking mechanism, doesn't crack nails

Cons: not sold in stores

Our lab/shepherd mix HATES getting her nails clipped and hers grow really fast! These clippers work REALLY good and it doesn't take long at all. Now shes not as scared of clippers cause they cut smooth and don't hurt her. I would recommend this to everyone!

Our lab's nails have ALWAYS grown ridiculously fast. It sounded like she was tap dancing every time we took her for a walk. She has always been skittish about someone handling her paws, so using the services of a groomer was out of the question. There was no way she would sit still for a rotary trimmer either. Our only option was to find clippers that would do the job quickly and cleanly.
After doing quite a bit of research, we decided to purchase the 6.5 inch Millers Forge clippers, and we're THRILLED that we did! What a FANTASTIC product! It cuts cleanly, it doesn't leave any jagged edges, so no filing! (We're sure the dog's just as relieved as we are about that) She still tries to break away when my husband begins to cut her nails, but she calms down after the first few cuts. It's all over in under a minute.
An excellent product that I wish we would have looked into sooner. Highly recommended!

Upon recieving these nail clippers, I proceeded to open box; chase my 17 yr. old dog; caught her by the couch and we both sat down to get those nails clipped in no time. I love these!
