This piece of equipment saved me giving up on my fish altogether. I had green water for 2 months. I tried everything from anti-algae chemicals, 75% water changes, blacking the tank out for a week straight, nothing worked. I put this little thing in the tank, took about 2 minutes to set up. Less than 48 hours later and the water is crystal clear. I mean, better than I've ever seen it before!

My tank is so crisp two day's after using this sterilizer, it looks like my fish are swimming in thin air.....I didn't think I really had a water quality problem before using this sterilizer; I only purchased it as a preventative measure for when I add new fish to the tank. It kinda creeps me out thinking what was in my tank before, that made the water "less clear"....it's pretty amazing so far.

I've been using the 9 watt in my 29 Galion and the 24 watt in my 150 Galion freshwater tanks for a couple of years now, with good results. Not only will it kill your algae bloom it makes the water much clearer.

My Cichlids are healthier and more active also. I run these 24/7 now because the bulbs burn out much faster if I turn them off for flushing/ cleaning, I was concerned about build-up residue on the bulb, but it doesn't seem to affect their performance if you just leave them alone.

Try to hide these in a area where the filter easy to access for cleaning for increased bulb life (5-8 months) Use a Amazon sword plant or driftwood to hide it, and be sure to keep it lower than your biggest water change and you will not have a problem.

Our 55gal saltwater tank was so green we couldnt see our fish. Did everything to get rid of it. water change shut lights off add alge fix nothing worked. Bought the 9 watt u v sterilizer and in 2 days our tank was crystal clear. We just cant get over how clear our tank is and the fish seem so happy.We are going to buy one for our other tank to. I would tell everyone who has a fish tank to buy one of these.

I was very hesident of purchasing a uv sterlizer because people have told me it kills off all the good bactier . I was having a ICK problem and none of the meds worked. Well after a few days of running this uv sterlizer the ick cleared fish are all fine and don't seem to be having any problems with the biologocal filter.
I put this on a timer so it only runs about 4 hours a day but my water is crystal clear and see no signs of any sickness or poor health. Yes I would reccommend this uv Sterlizer to anyone having a problem with algee or sickness . This thing sure works.

I had been fighting algae for quite some time without any good results. The 50 gal was overworking me just cleaning and vacuuming & water changes. I bought this UV filter and 3 days later I have beautiful clear water. I believe my fish are happier too!

Now I want one for my 20 gal although there is no problem with it. I am thinking of the chemicals I can save over the long run with this, as well as less frequent filter pad changes.

I rarely take the time to write reviews, I am so pleased, I couldn't help but to take the time for this product.

We have a 15-gallon, tall square tank. It's got 7 minnows, a couple of snails and a few shrimp in it.

We've been dealing with icky green water for months and month, and tried every recommendation out there. We've tried different plants, water changes, bubble filters, chemicals, black-out periods, you name it - we tried it. We consistently tested our water thinking something was wrong - all of our levels were fine. It was just ugly, mucky, green water.

After reading the reviews about this product, we bit the bullet and bought it. We installed the filter on Sunday night, and as of Wednesday morning, the tank is almost 100% clear. I wish we would have bought this first instead of spending money on all the other solutions that didn't end up working.

If you have green water, don't waste any more money or time, just buy this and your problem will be solved.

I had a terrible algae bloom in my 29 gallon tank. The water was completely green, so green in fact that I couldn't see anything in the tank and I could only see my fish when he came close to the front of the tank. It was like having an indoor swamp. Fed up with seeing green (I tried just about everything to get rid of it) I finally decided to shell out the cash to buy the 9w Internal UV Sterilizer. It didn't work instantly, but within a few weeks my swamp green tank became crystal clear! The only problem? The suction cups don't stick well. But I fixed that by taping the wires to the back of my tank to prevent the product from falling or sliping.

Overall: This product got rid of my algae bloom and made my tank water clear. It took a week or so to show results, but the results are well worth the wait. Installation was easy. The only problem was the suction cups (they didn't stick well). Great product!

added to 44 gallon , after one week tank is clear . i am going to buy the 24v , for my other tank. i have had this for 2 months so far so good. if you have green in your tank please try this, you will be happy about it, removing the green and getting your tank clear. about how long the life of the lamp i don't know put will re post about that when it stops.

I kept trying natural things to get rid of green water in my tank and after battling water changes all of the time, I bought this in hopes of it making my tank look better and my fish staying healthy and happy and since installing this unit I have not had any of the problems I had before and my water is finally crystal clear and fish are not stressed looking anymore, Thank you for an awesome product.

I have been keeping aquariums for over 40 years and have never had a green algae problem like this one. My entire tank was a sheet of green. I have a 110 gallon planted freshwater tank (including sump) and was concerned about pushing the parameters of the Internal UV Sterilizer w/Power Head since it stated up to 100 gallons. I figured out how to assemble it and had it up and running within fifteen minutes. Six days later my aquarium water is almost perfect. Some have said the flow is too slow. Remember, the slower the flow, the longer the water stays in contact with the UV light. This product does exactly what it was designed to do. Two fins up!

I have a saltwater tank and in 1 day I am already seeing great results. My corals are looking healthier & my fish look like they're smiling. I have tried all saltwaTER chemicals to get rid of algae, but nothing worked. All my levels were good and while my water was clear, I kept getting green and red algae.

I have a red-eared slider tank that maintained green water no matter what I did. I have a very well lit condo and there is not much I can do to reduce the amount of light the tank receives. I tried everything to get rid of the green water ... every other day water changes, algae controllers, cleaning the tank and filter, switch out the tank etc. I installed the 9W UV Sterilizer and the green was eliminated in 3 days, crystal clear water in five days. I keep my UV sterilizer on a daily timer since my tank is exposed to so much light (10 hrs on/day) and my water stays crystal clear!

This device works excellent. It is efficient and capable of clearing a 100 gallon tank of a green aglae bloom in 3 day. Easy setup and quiet design since its submerged. Only issue is that the suction cups on the power inverter are tiny and cant hold to the side of my tank. Well worth every penny I paid and cant say that its worth buying a more expensive UV system.

I bought this mostly for the use of killing harmful pathogens in my tank. Was a bit skeptical because it was much cheaper than most UV sterilizer out there but this thing gets the job done. Easy to set up and install. I didn't have a problem with green algae but my tank was always a little cloudy but still relatively clear (or so I thought). Put this in my tank on Friday evening and by Saturday morning the water was sparkling. I didn't think my water was that bad until I saw how clear the water became after using this for 12 hours. If the bulbs last for a good amount of time, then I will have gotten my money's worth.

I had really bad cloudy water in my 60 gallon and no matter what i did it just kept coming back! water changes, algae treatments, water clarifyer, extra filters, i wasted a lot of money on products i did not need i bought this as my last option and withthin 1 day my water started to clear up i recommend anyone having problems with cloudy water that wont go away to purchase one of these before going out and spending lots of dough on items that will not work, this product is just simply the best product out there!

My tank was green and cloudy and nothing I did changed it. I bought this product and installed it...about 2 days later the water starting clearing...after a week I did a water change and now have crystal clear water...I even bought a new background and my 26g is beautiful.

There are a few things I do not like about this product and that is the suction cups on the adaptor box do not stay so it keeps falling...I basically have it just hanging there. I also do not like how the wires from the bulb part go in the water with the lamp...I am kind of uneasy putting wires in water.

I unplugged it this morning to see if the water stays this way. I am really happy overall.

Pros: works great, easy to use
