I adopted my soon to be 4 year old seal-point Snowshoe kitty May 2010 and noticed dandruff on his lower back near the tail, especially when shedding or nervous as he was adjusting to his new environment. It went away in the summer but once winter came, air got even drier and dandruff persisted. I've been giving him Hill's Science Diet Optimal Care dry food as that's what he ate at the shelter but decided to try the Sensative Skin formula for the dandruff. There was no way I was going to spend money on allergy testing or prescription diets when I've spent over $2000 on his deep ear cleaning treatment for ear infection so I opted for the $13.99 bag of Sensative Skin cat food. Noticed a difference within a week, coat became even more silky and shiny plus of course improvement with the dandruff and less scratching. This is his new kibble and even better that he eats it with out fussiness. I'll stock up when on sale as $13.99 is steep for a bag of cat food, even if high quality (hence the 4 stars). But, still cost effective in long run.
Pros: high quality, digestible, taste
Cons: price

Isaac, my 6 yo male tabby, decided that we would love to live with Lucy, my 15 yo seal-point siamese and I. Once he adopted us, I would try several different types of food, but they ALL made him sick. I also thought that he was just a vain little man that loved to groom himself.
This last year, I finally was able to get him to the same vet Lucy has had for years, instantly, she recognized that he is allergic to fish flavored foods. She gave me a small bag of Hill's Science Diet Sensitive Skin and it works. Not only that, but he likes it and it doesn't make him sick. Better yet, Lucy loves it too, and it seems to do well as she has been more active and is shedding less this year than ever! This is the key to happiness with my kids.

I adoped a black American short-hair about a year ago, she was being fed science diet at the shelter. I stopped giving her the science diet for about 6 months when I began to notice that she was loosing her fur on her sides to the point where she was almost bald. I took her to the vet numerous time but they were unsure what was wrong with her. when I finally broke down and bought the Sensitive skin formula her fur began to grow back within a week!! I would definatly recommend this brand for any cat or kitten that has fur problems!!

My cat started getting dandruff looking flakes on her back after we moved to an area with vey dry air. We had tried other brands of cat food that were supposed to help with dry skin, but nothing worked except Science Diet Sensitive Skin. It's expensive but worth it because it works for us!

The past year has been terrible....I have two cats, and one cat began excessively grooming her hind legs and entire groin region bare --- to the point where she was licking off the skin. After spending HUNDREDS of dollars on blood samples, urine samples, a surgical procedure to cut out and sample a piece of her skin, and a month's worth of anti-anxiety prescriptions (the Vet actually gave her Valium) it was determined she had a food allergy and was put on Prescription Diet d/d ($$$$). It began to help the over grooming, but then my other cat began puking profusely. The vet had me switch to Prescription Diet z/d ($$$$$) and the other cat stopped puking but the problem cat began over grooming again. At my wits end, and completely unable to feed both of my cats separately with separate food, Hills Science Diet Sensitive Adult Cat Food was my last hope --- and it works! The over grooming completely stopped within two weeks and my other cat is just fine eating it. I've noticed improvement in both of their coats as well. Thank you!!!!

Hunter is 7yo. Every few months we were taking him to the vet because he was licking and biting himself and becoming almost frantic. The vet would give him a steroid injection and he would be good for a few months an then develop the same symptoms again. Several months ago they did a skin biopsy on him. Of course it was negative. We found the sensitive skin formula one day and tried it. He has not had a rash since. We are thrilled and tell everyone we know about it.

When my cat was abotu 4 years old, he developed this horrible habit of licking and biting at his stomach. His entire belly was completely bald. I took him to the vet, who suggested allergy pills. Well, after a few weeks of shoving pills down my cat's throat, not only was he bald, but he was terrified of me, particularly if I had treats. What's worse is that the bald spot did not go away. I finally tried this food instead, and miraculously, the bald spot went away. What's more, he seems to like the food and he has a whole lot more energy to play. And I don't feel like the world's worst cat mom.

My cat had dry, flaky skin, and since she's black it looked like she was perpetually covered in dandruff. My vet gave me some fatty acid drops which I hated giving and my cat hated taking. Besides that, they only decreased the problem - they didn't resolve it.
While I was shopping for food one day I saw this and decided to give it a try. Within a week the flakes were gone and her coat looked absolutely radiant. Even my mother commented on how good my little one looked. I've been buying it ever since!
