My am Staff mix, Tessa is 62 lbs. gained 4 lbs since Oct. She should weigh in the 40's. Today the vet recommended Science Diet Adult Advanced Fitness, so since I'll do anything for her, I bought it and gave her her first feeding. She seemed to like it, but she'll eat anything!! I have to have her weighed in a month, so we'll see how she does. I hope it works for her. She's a beautiful best friend!!!

Have always fed all my animals Science Diet, never had to worry about recalls or anything like that. So when we adopted out mutted German Pinscher, didn't hesitate to go with Science Diet. She is super high energy, and I want her to stay that way. She is my mountain biking buddy, we go around 5 miles averaging 7 mph and have hit 18 mph at times. And there are times that I am holding her back. Like I said, high energy. Since switching her from puppy to Active Fitness, I have seen a difference in muscle mass(this dog would be scary if not well behaved) energy has stayed about the same however.

Tossed on a video of her first time hitting the mountain bike trail. Not the best, but all I got

On the top of the page for Science Diet dog food found on Petsmart.com, it says "It's what Vets feed their own pets", and it goes on to a list of check boxes...which includes a promise that their food DOES NOT contain chicken by-product meal. Yet when you click on the link for any of their dog food formulations, CHICKEN BY-PRODUCT MEAL is one of the top 5 ingredients! Do they think dog owners are ignorant and will blindly trust anything they advertise and not actually read the ingredients list?? Not a company that I can trust anymore...or Science Diet needs to hire a marketing company that can lie better without getting caught.

When we first got Casser at home I totally thought we were going to be trying a number of brands until she finds the one she really likes but she tried Science Diet and we didn't need to look any further, Casser looks very healthy and loves her food and we are very happy with that :)

I've been using this food for about 8 years. I've been very happy. My dog has always been at her ideal weight. I tried one of the more expensive "natural/first ingredient meat" foods and her hair got drier and flakier. I went right back to Science Diet. I have also used the large breed versions and the mature adult versions (she's right on the edge for weight so I can use either. And, until we got a new young dog, she had been slowing down so we were using the mature adult formula; now she's so active again, we're back to regular). Basically I switch easily between large breed and regular as the sales go.

Switched my lab over to this food 5 weeks ago. He was previously on the regular science diet, but I was looking for something with better ingredients. He absolutely hates the Advanced Fitness. I figured he would get used to it after a couple of weeks but he hasn't. Decided to spend a few dollars more on a premium food. Brought home some Blue Buffalo yesterday and he loves his new food! I feel bad that I made him even eat it.

I have a wonderful pet Beagle whom if she could type on a keyboard would be entering this product review herself. lol. We have had Chloe since a puppy and have tried multiple store brands of dog food, none which I may add have come close to Science Diets benefits. Her coat is very soft and shiny, her dental hygiene is great, no bad breath or discolored teeth (without any use of doggy dental products), and our vet compliments her overall health during our yearly checkups. Chloe is almost 3 years old and as lively as ever. During her feedings there is hardly any leftover kibble in her bowl reflective of being appealing to her palate and she has never had diarrhea as a result of this food as with some other dog food brand reviews. I am a Science Diet customer for life and would definitely recommend this product to a dog owner who really cares about their pets overall health and well being.

I had the opportunity to tour the Science and Technology center at Hill's Pet Nutrition in Topeka Kansas and believe me, there is no other pet food company that comes close to Hill's ability to ensure proper pet nutrition. Don't fall for the all natural bologna that is the current flash in the pan from the pet food industry. Do your research on proper pet nutrition by asking your Vet. Other foods contain excess nutrients that can cause health problems. Watch out for excess nutrients in other brands that tout meat first and claim that corn is a poor source of carbs for dogs. Veterinary books on internal medicine claim that ground corn is an ideal source of carbs for dogs. All other dog food brands are inferior.

I've used this food since 1990 for 4 different dogs after it was recommended by my vet. Very satisfying for dogs, and very little filler which leads to very little "waste". Never had a single digestive problem with any of 4 pets.

I have two dogs, a rot and a shepard mix and both dogs love this food. Our rot has a sensitive stomach and tends to vomit when eating certain foods, but not with this product. The dogs don't have bowel movements as often and they eat a less amount of food with science diet. Everyone should have their pet try this!

When I adopted my dog from the animal shelter they were feeding her Science Diet and she was only 11 pounds. (her proper weight is 13 pounds!) 2 pounds might not seem like alot, but for such a small dog it is. She hardly ate it at all and for a while we were worried about her. I reserched other food and found a much higher quality and healther food ( actually I found many higher quality foods) when we fed the better food to her she ate the whole bowl immedietly; after changing her food she has had more energy and a healther coat... we are so happy that we no longer feed Science Diet.

Best Food Out There

Science Diet has a customer for life. We used to feed our pets food that could be bought from any store. Our cat had horrible shedding problems and no energy, so we switched to science diet. She had a beautiful coat and more energy within just a few weeks. This was about 4 years ago. Our cat has sinced passed on, but our dogs that we now have will not eat anything but Science Diet. They have the healthiest, shinnest coats and great energy.

We got our dogs from the SPCA in Sept 2006 where they had been fed Science Diet Original for the year they were with the SPCA. We didn't want to make too many changes in their world at once and stayed with it. Our dogs like it and it is a good value in my judgement. Since the dogs weigh a combined 115 pounds, you can see we go through a lot of it.
