My vet recommended this food over 20 years ago. This is all I have used on my two chihuahuas. My oldest is 13, and has never given me an ounce of problems. My next one is 11, she is blind, a diabetic and last week had a stroke. When I took her to the vet, he said she may come back from the stroke, and that strokes are quite common in chihuahuas. I have had 9 chihuahuas and never one of them ever had a stroke or diabeties. I give her two shots of insulin a day. Due to the excellent dog food her diabeties remains under control, and they are both basically healthy. You read the labels on the cheap dog food (not to mention the smell when you open the can-ugh!) and the ingredients you can realize are good ingredients. I would not ever use any other food. They might be chihuahuas but they can eat a lot! Thank you Hill's for making an excellent product.

My Bichon Frise was a very fussy eater, I bought a can of Science Diet, and after 1 meal my Bichon loved it so much I could not chop it up fast enough in his bowl the next day. He barked at me until I put the bowl down. He still barks for his food.
My cat also loves it. He is a 20 year old male cat who is a big time senior, he had trouble walking around and was sleeping all the time, since giving him Science Diet, he perked up and got some energy back again.

Pros: adds energy and health to their daily lives.

Cons: small can dog food only comes in 2 flavors
