My 5 yr old male cat developed crystals in his urine 2 months ago. After an overnight trip to the vet, he was sent home and I had to change his dry cat food. All was well until last week when he started the symptoms of having the crystals again. I called the vet and they had me put him on the s/d wet cat food. Luckily I only purchased 6 cans, because he nor his older brother would eat it! I even tried mixing it with other wet food with no luck. I read the reviews from people about Pro Plan and decided to try it. Both cats LOVE it!!!!! I still give them some dry food made for urinary problems, but I soak it in water to increase their water intake. This product is aces in my book and I hope that Purina continues to make it.

My male cat had issues with urinary blockage and crystals in his urinary tract. With mounting vet bills, we were at our wits end. Our vet prescribed the hills c/d cat food. However, our cat would not eat it after 2 weeks and was still passing crystals through his urinary tract. We tried the pro plan cat food for urinary tract health and saw a huge difference. It has been 3-1/2 months since we started using this cat food and our cat has not experienced any urinary issues. In fact, he is feeling so much better and now spending more time with our family. This cat food saved his life. Thank you, Purina!!!

This is a great food for male cats who require a special diet. My cat is prone to developing kidney stones like many male cats. This canned food gives him some variety from the boring everyday dry food he usually eats.
Pros: urinary tract healthy

I have been feeding this to both of my "kids" after taking them off of the Hills s/d prescription diet over a year ago. Though the prescription food allowed my girl cat to reduce her struvite crystals successfully (without surgery), I was concerned about keeping her (and the boy) on a veterinary diet for too long. Besides, like many others here, I found they truly hated taking their "medicine" as food. They love the taste of the chicken, and the little fellow *loves* his gravy. There has been no recurrance so far. I always try to find this on sale at the $.50/can mark, and buy in bulk.
Pros: tasty (i presume!), effective at keeping crystals at bay
Cons: can be expensive full-price

My 17-year old female domestic cat has always been on hard food. Ever since her first UTI when she was 2 years old, I have had her on the urinary health formula of the hard food. The last few years she has been struggling with vomiting/hairballs, and I switched her to the sensitive stomach/hairball food. Well, a few weeks ago she got a severe UTI and since she is so old, it has taken a while for her to bounce back. In speaking with my vet, he said senior cats should really be on soft food, so I switched her to the stomach/hairball soft food, patte consistency. Long story...Long, she wouldn't eat it. I was so happy when I found urinary health soft food in a gravy consistency. SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT!!! It is pricey for a 3 oz. can of soft food, but she loves it and she is still with us. I will not feed her anything else from now on.
Pros: gravy consistency is a plus.
Cons: pricey

I have a 7 yr old male with Herpes1 and urinary problems. He will not touch the canned food the vet had. Because of his Herpes1 I need to give him L-lysine everyday and the only way to do that is to mix it in his canned food. I tried the ProPlan urinary tract Chicken Entree and both my cats love it.

I have five cats, and out of the five only one has been diagnosed with struvite crystals. Going through the experience has caused me to put all five cats on a diet that offfers low ash/magnesium to prevent any from experiencing this awful problem. To make a long story short, the prescription food prescribed to my cat with the crystals she would not eat! She hated it. She would eat the dry formula somewhat but not the canned. Since wet food is preferred over dry especially a cat with urinary problems I was determined to find one that they all would eat and thank God, the Pro Plan passed the test. And I have tested ph level on them and it is actually keeping the ph at a healthy level!

My cat went to the vet and was diagnosed with struvite crystals. My vet tried to give her canned prescription Royal Canine and she wouldn't have anything to do with it. The only wet food for urinary tract health I can get her to eat is the Purina Pro Plan canned food. She loves it. She has been eating it for over a month now and still has not grown tired of it.

This is a wonderful product! My cat was hospitalized 5 times with urinary blockages and would not eat the prescription food (Hill's CD or Purina UR) prescribed by my Vet. He loves the Pro Plan and has remained healthy since we started him on the Pro Plan Chicken. PetsSmart also has the best prices for this food.

My male cat was experiencing reoccurances with urinary tract blockage. A vet suggested first changing the food and gave us Science Diet in the can as well as the dry food. My cat wouldn't touch either. I went to PetSmart knowing they had a wide variety of products and hoping there were other products available that I could try. The manager showed me the ProPlan can. That was 4 months ago and we haven't had a reoccurance since. I am sold on this cat food!
