Waste of money

I was looking forward to this item, and after several weeks, it was just a dissapointment.

The good: it makes a nice good sound, and is soothing.
Cats and dogs enjoy the motion of water, drinking out of it, and staring at it.

The Bad: It get SO dirty. It leaves deposits of dirt, food, and fur residuals from the dogs. Those deposits don't get lifted up by the filter, since it's not strong enough, and just sits in the bottom of the bowl. It just gets YUCKY, and then the water doesn't get clean. IT just leaves the water gross!!
The bowl is very small, consistantly refilling water.
The filter gets dirty faster than any filters I've seen, you will have to change it in 2 weeks. Washing/ rinsing it will not help it. Will just be costly.
Lastly, the bowl is plastic. Not great for washing, and sanitary purposes.
If even still you do decide to get this item, get the metal one, it would be easier to wash, clean, and remain sanitary.

It would be good if you have one cat, but there is a chance your cat might mess with the water (which will get everywhere on the floor) since it's intrigued by the constant motion.

Cons: poor quality, Doesn't Hold Enough Food or Water

This is our first kitty fountain and we love it. It's nice to know that our cats are drinking more water, and it's cleaner than before. They always have a constant stream of water in the house now.
The only thing about it is that initially it was very quiet, but after we changed the filter once it started making a "fountain" like noise. It's not that bad though, kind of soothing.
I definitely recommend this product!
