I got this so my 15 year old, nearly blind, cat would not have to smack the water to make it move and become visible/touchable on his chin. He was inhaling water when he tried to drink, distressing both of us! This unit is NOISY but seems to keep the water moving. So far the old man and the younger cats like it.

i had another fountain before this one and it was so loud and the motor would always stop working... this one is completely silent and everything works great. it is super easy to clean and my dog loves it! i highly recommend this product!
