Great car seat, but not without a couple of flaws

My dog loves being able to see out the window using this car seat. I feel like he is safer in the back seat, strapped in and secure. However, the seat belt in my car does not fit quite right on the car seat, so the lap belt, when tightened, tends to make this car seat slide forward.
The drawer is handy storage for my dog's treats, and the covering is nice and plush. I did add an extra pillow on the inside for my dog to sit on so that he is more comfortable and sits a little higher.
Because the seat belt does not sit quite right, it is starting to permanently deform the foam of the car seat. The upper side rail of the foam is also starting to become deformed from my dog leaning on it. He is only 14 lbs and I have only had this seat a couple of weeks. Also, my dog got used to being strapped into his harness, which in turn is attached to the seat belt, pretty quickly. The problem is that the part that is attached to the seat belt does not slide easily along the belt like it is supposed to do in theory, so he is basically stuck in one position once I put him in and attach him.
All of that being said, I am pretty happy with my purchase. However, this seat is really just a piece of inexpensive foam with a fabric cover, and based on how the foam is getting bent already, I don't think it is going to last that long. That is unfortunate given the price.
