This bed is nice and soft. No smell, to me anyway. Big enough for a fat cat or small dachshund. About a 12" inch top cover. Very durable. Have not tried to wash yet and no pet has been able to review it yet, as it is a Christmas present for a garage cat. But maybe too nice, the indoor dogs will probably steel it. Not super thick for outdoor use. But would be luxury with a few extra blankets on top.
