My dog has white fur and I noticed about 2 weeks after I put her tag on, her neck fur was turning dark grey. I realized it was the id tag and it has since been replaced with a stainless steel one.

Pros: looks great

Extremely nice tag, MINUS THE ADVERTISING!

I purchased this tag for my dog. It seems to be nice quality, with nice printing and framing. The printing is not very deep at all (it's lightly etched), so rough and tumble dogs would wear it out quickly.

The so called 'fixed problem' of the writing wearing off is ridiculous. Their solution is a sticker (just big enough to cover the imprint) that you have to try to position in place over the writing, and they only give you one, so even if you could get it on there straight only one side is protected. Needless to say, I tried and then my sticker went in the trash.

This aside, as I expect to have to replace her tag periodically, but I do not appreciate that PetSmart's logo is stamped into the tag, and it's in a bigger and bolder font than my text. I didn't buy this for the purpose of advertising for PetSmart, so I am quite disappointed that they did this.

These are the only tags I will use for my pets (2 cats, 3 dogs). The edges keep them from rubbing with the other tags, and the plastic piece protects information even further. More expensive, but worth the cost!
