Formulation change?

I tried the pelleted version of this litter and was unsuccessful in getting my cats to transition. However, the "clumping" version of this litter leaves much to be desired. It clumps only if you look at it and not touch it. However, any slight movement and the clump falls apart. Terrible clumping ability - good odor control but you can't really clean out the used litter clumps. I would not recommend this until they change back to their old formulation.

Big waste of money

Feline Pine claims "Clumps tight" and "Low dust" Both statements are as far from the truth as you can get. Urine might clump tight if you leave it in the box for five days but after 12 hours or more it does not. It looks like it is but no mater how gently you shake your litter scoop it falls apart and drops through the slots and then is impossible to pick up. Dust also flies up to greet you every time you scoop. We have been searching for a litter that clumps tight and has no dust. We have tried Sweet Scoop, Blue Naturaly crushed walnuts, Tidy Cat Pure Nature cedar and pine, and World's Best Clumping made from corn. All of them need to be poured from one bucket to another several times in the wind to get rid of the dust. Sweet Scoop and Blue Naturaly work best after de-dusting.
Cons: Hard to Sift

Fair clumping, & great odor control vs wheat

I felt the need to review this product because of a long search for a litter that was safe for both humans and animals. Because this is natural, I already was inclined to purchase. As most cat owners know, both wheat and corn can be dangerous/unhealthy for cats (and humans with dietary intolerances, such as gluten) to ingest, so that leaves few natural options. This litter has excellent odor control and does not track as much as the wheat variety. It is fair on clumping power, where I would rate wheat, good to excellent. I prefer it to the new walnut shell litter because it is much easier to sift waste and is not nearly as messy. The price could definitely be better, but check Feline Pine for a mail in rebate if you're interested in trying the product. I think my cat and I will be staying with this for a while.
Pros: eliminates odor, easy to clean

Good on odor control but waayyy to dusty. I live in a small space and it makes my boyfriend & friends very sneezy, to the point where he had to sleep somewhere else because he was so sniffy. Don't waste your money if you have allergies or are sensitive to dust.

Never thought I would review a cat litter!

Living in a small condo with all hardwood floors, I was looking for something "softer" for my two cats to track around. And I found it!!! Not only does it last twice as long as the clay brands, but it weighs so much less! and I have to carry up 3 flights of stairs. Even my 21 year old son commented on how well it controls odor! I will never go back!
