This filter is absolutely excellent. Have had it for 2 years now and have had nothing ever go wrong with it. The tubing on the FX5 is far more flexible and easier to work with than any of the other canister filters on the market. By far one of the easiest canister filters on the initial install and to maintain on the market today. It is extremely efficient in all areas, but it excels most at is Mechanical Filtration. I have 4 turtles right now and it's always recommended to go 3x your tank size for filtration. This does the job superb, so I would imagine you should have no problems with the filter, even if you have an overstocked cichlid tank or arowanas. It is only second best to the Eheim series in terms of Bio filtration, but it definitely takes the cake for mechanical. The surface area of the foam sponges traps tons of debris.
