I rescued 2 Chows that were in a kennel in Philly. I asked what food they fed them. I was shocked at their answer, it was cheap food. They were under weight and their coats were dull. I told them I would be weening them off that brand and changing to Purina One Smartblend. I got them home and mixed the 2 foods for about a week. After a couple of days I noticed both of them were picking out the Smartblend, leaving the other food in their dishes. They love the Smartblend and won't eat anything else. Just recently I stared feeding them the Purina One Smartblend large breed. Since they've been on the Smartblend they have more energy and their coats are shinier and easier to groom. They also gained the weight to where it's suppost to be. My vet noticed the differince between their first visit and the 2nd visit. He was impressed when I told him I changed them to the Purina One Smartblend.

Pros: high quality, digestible, taste, price

Hi I am pleased to write a review for the Purina One dog food. I have rescued a purebreed black and tan American Coonhound from a rescue organization. He was once at a high kill shelter in the south. When we rescued him from the foster site in Ohio, we were told of his diet. It was strickly Purina One. We have continued to use this brand. Our wonderful companion has grown from 5 0 to 100 lbs. He is strong, lean, great shape and healthy with a totally awesome shiny coat. We love this brand, and want to thank the Purina family for keeping our DUFF in good health and shape!!

I have fed my Chocolate Lab Purina One products from puppy-hood on to her new status as an adult! She has had no weight problems and LOVES mealtime (as most dogs do). This is a well-made dog food that is reasonably priced so that a twenty-something, like myself, can still afford to treat my pet like a queen!
